My advice that i wish i had taken on at the outset don't put any money down on your trades until you paper trade and know the system is profitable long term.

@ryan has only tagged me because he knows I'll say nice things about him!

The AMA podcasts are really useful because it helps you get inside the heads of other trades and realise you probably share similar thoughts.

Something that Ryan recommended to me was the book Atomic Habits. The purpose was to see each trade as a process and if you could be honest with your assessment of how you carried out each process that would help a lot. When I say process I mean step by step what you do for 1 strategy on each trade. If you change one of the steps then you need to be honest with yourself and focus on what you do rather than the result.

Finally, the biggest thing but no one wants to hear it... patience. It takes time for a reason. It's easy to try and do everything all at once and see what sticks but if you don't give your full attention then nothing will work. I was guilty of this early on, but I worked on 1 strategy and had to be really strict with myself. I'm now in a position that I know it inside out and I'm looking to add a second strategy, but I can only do it because I trust the first strategy.

Hopefully that helps a bit, but if you want anything else let me know

Best advise is learn from every trade and every trader.
    With any strategy.....Focus....Plan...DO.....REVIEW.....
Vicious circle but you learn from your losses, which have been the best thing that happened to me initially!! I know that's strange but true.
Now I have systems and strategies I trust and do not worry about the bad days, but I still follow the above......
I am a relative newbie only 6 months in, you can may this work!
I thought Football was going to be easier, but I now only do Horse Racing...

@francis-gallagher I echo the comments by @jon-kinnear here, ROI and bank sizes aren't where I would advise you focus.

That video is a very good one.

    Check this out: https://new.betfairtradingcommunity.com/testimonials/

Also like Martin says the members blogs, a lot of people get focused on actually winning and attribute their success at this to making money when in reality that's only part of the puzzle.

You've got to get the system down for trading and then look at what you are doing don't just judge your success initially on ROI and bank size.

    I'll tag @Dan-MacKinnon here too 😉

@francis-gallagher may be worth reading through some of the member blogs on here, if you need inspiration it is there in spades! You will also see the process people have used to be successful from rookie level and up.

Hey Francis, Hearing peoples ROI and banks sizes wont help you in any way whatsoever, what helped me become profitable over the last 2 months was Ryans supertrader video series, even just the first video will put you on the right track.
