    Hi everyone,

This is my first post in the community and I'm keen to hear some experienced opinions.

    My dilemma is simple:

I love football and I want to trade this sport. I know it inside out and I'd gladly do the research phase. However, I support my local team and go to every game home and away. As such I am never available on Saturdays to place pre match or in play bets.

Will this prohibit me from profitably trading football, or can I create a couple of good set and forget strategies?

Thanks all, look forward to hearing your view.

@dan-mackinnon Yup I think this time they should finally get the promotion this year, though I wouldn't rule out Notts County they are a very good outfit.

We played Wrexham away in August and got battered 4 or 5 nil. It was a painful watch and a very quiet journey home! It's a nice ground, the club has got a huge local following and big sponsors like TikTok.

I think we'll see more buy outs from "big names" in Non-League, even here you won't get much change from a few million. There are some huge clubs down in this league, Oldham, Notts County, Halifax, Wrexham, Scunthorpe etc.

People say it's the hardest league to get out of.

@emily-knowles I've just returned from visiting family in the USA and they all kept talking about Wrexham. Hopefully, the other NL clubs can cash in on their popularity before they buy the league.

@dan-mackinnon NL is really interesting and grass roots local clubs are often well supported.

The deal for Maidstone to be brought out broke down a few weeks ago, It was as good as done and even announced to the public then it went south at the last minute and collapsed.

Dulwich have the joy of our recently sacked Manager - All I'd say to your colleague is to not stand near a bus because Hak will throw one of his players under it regularly!

@emily-knowles one of my colleagues is a Maidstone fan. Didn't you recently get bought by a fan?

There are actually quite a few non-league fans in the office. Maidstone, Bromley, Dorking and Dulwich Hamlet. We've got a few non-league fans on here too

@emily-knowles 100% you could, off the top of my head if you know a top player will be out and the market doesn't you could lay that team then the team news drops and the price for them to win goes out and you take your profit.

@martin Good to hear your opinion, it seems many people don't like to trade it 🙂

@ryan It looks like I'm good to go - most people said the same, Saturdays are not the best for trading.

I follow Maidstone United - we're about to be relegated from the National League into the NLS. I have a shed load of knowledge (often ahead of the press releases) re player transfers, injuries, manager changes etc so I want to find a way to create a strategy for English Non-League if I can 🙂

    @emily-knowles Welcome!

I think it might be a blessing in disguise 😉 Saturday afternoon footie can be a real chore to trade and I have often found I've been way more profitable on Sundays.

I think 100% it can be done 😄

    PS who's your local team?

@emily-knowles you can have set and forget ones that you can place before a match and let run.

also Saturday afternoons are a minefield for football, especially 3pm KO in UK, I hate them!

@emily-knowles said in I want to trade football but not available Saturday afternoons - Can it be done?:

Ah I didn't think of Australia for football, I guess there are other continents which play at different times too.

There’s plenty of European football played from around 10am at the weekends also.

South America and USA tends to be overnight but Asia including Australia generally play between 4am and 11am

@emily-knowles The racing is a bit harder to set and forget as bets need to go on just before the race. Im just trying to get my head around automation so I can set and forget those too(currently on a 2 week free bet angel trial) but Im not the person to speak to about that😂

Good to know thank you. Do you just do football set and forgets or are you active in the racing ones too?

Check out the football set and forget thread. I know very little about football, like watching it even less and dont have a lot of time on a saturday anyway. I put bets on Martins back over 1.5 and Tomazs lay under 1.5(I actually back these too) then get on with my day....small stakes because Im new to all this but Its fun and so far successful😊

If I banned myself from Saturday afternonnd my bankroll would be thanking me

Most nights there are midweek games and early Saturday games in Australia etc can be lucrative

I much prefer Sunday's to Saturdays games are more spread out
