Bet Angel Automation Thread

@tony-hastie The stuff on the Bet Angel form are mechanical examples of using guradian's tools and while they will do what they say using them on a market without modification is a sure way to loose a lot of bank roll very quickly. Many of them just show one aspect of an automation and need combining together in order to make anything useful. Always keep in mind, Bet Angel is a commercial product and the forum is an extended product support site. People on there are very one way, they take information but do not share the succesful results back to the forum and are generally looking for specific solutions to a problem they have. Nothing wrong with that as that's the point of the site I guess. The great thing about that forum is you can, if you read through a lot of the posts, find some very useful insights in to the application of guardian in ways that you'd never thought of. However you may not actually get an example file, but at least you can formulate a starting point for something.

@tom-2 Im trialling a few automations Ive found on the BA forum. Quickly came to the conclusion that although the automations generally do what they are supposed to do they still need you to feed them the selections to make them profitable. Im very early in my trading(and bet angel) career so am loathed to share things just yet...incase they dont work! Its well worth looking through the BA automation library though...an hour here, an hour there, youre sorted

Does anybody use the football strategies from the Bet Angel forum?
If so, are any of them profitable and which ones?
I don't spend too much time in their forum. This one keeps me busy for the few hours I have in a day. -

Good day for me today laying the beaten favourite on Betangel Automation - 6 trades, all 6 profitable
great to hear!

@greenie
Me too, but I only had 4 matched. I think I need to raise my lay stakes.
Today was the first day for me to do the beaten favourite and I had it set on £1 stakes. The highest win was 24 pence haha.
But, a win is a win! Tomorrow I'm raising it to £5 -

@richard-coxon What's the significance of having no matched bets on the horse? I ask because I trade the ladder pre off and green up with 1 min to go then my bots come in and place bets based on my strategies. Often this is for a horse which I have traded on the ladder. My understanding (and hope) was if I did it like this the two trading styles would not affect each other.
It is just a safety thing, I don't do pre off trading on races that I am doing inplay trades on. It is to be 100% certain that I am only placing 1 bet on the selection. You can remove it.
-
@emily-knowles, will do for sure. I do mine manually but setting up the horses a couple days ago took 30 mins and I was left thinking, there HAS to be a better way!

@martin Back the favourite with the age filter I think please. I was wondering if this will replace the preset version?
here is the 4.0 version 0_1681298860752_rules_export (1).json

@richard-coxon
Thanks Richard.Btw, I'm all in today. Got 5 strategies running. All on £1 bets. It would be nice to get a profit but a slight loss wouldn't hurt.
I managed to add additional rules for my horse racing bets. All I need to do now is setup a second guardian for my football bets.
It's all a learning curve!

@tom-2 This will place a back bet on a horse in position 1 ordered by favourtism 1 min before the off if the odds are between 2.5 and 6 and there are no matched bets on the horse. AS it currently stands, if the horse is slightly above or below the odds range and the odds move in or out in the last min, then it will place a back bet also.

@richard-coxon
Thanks Richard.
I'll play around with it for a day or so in simulation and see what happens.Cheers

@james-menhenitt I agree, I'm sure once you work out the Excel integration it's awesome, but it just looks incredibly bitty and complicated to me. I manually set up my daily automation. If you work out how to use the excel in an "simple" way give me a nudge!
-
@greenie I've looked at the BA forum itself and there is a huge amount of excel integration but it looks very complex and far above the simple "can I put the markets on"!!
I'm sure it must be possible.

I'd love to be able to take the daily export of my strategies from BTC and (with some cheeky macros doing some data cleansing) get them into a format I can upload to Guardian.
Is this possible???
This is something I need to look into as well - I'm going to try and set aside some time later this week and have a play about!

@tom-2 is this for the back the favourite at the off ? I am not too sure, I do not not do the strategy to be fair. I think you need to check the horse nearer the off ? Obviously if you left the selection blank (so basically had a rule that said place a back bet on the horse in position 1 ordered by favouritism with odds less that x and higher than y) then if the odds criteria were met it would place a back bet on whatever the horse was favourite at the time 1 min before the off. As I say, I do not know the strategy beyond what I see in the email, I prefer to lay on races with over 8 runners as that gives me about an 88% chance of getting it right lol
