Bet Angel Automation Thread

Hi Richard, I've been running Bet Angel on live mode now for about 4 days, apart from Saturday & Sunday (Had other things on).
It's been a bit up and down and I'm just a little in the red, but not by that much! I'm nowhere near giving it a fair run yet!!!
My question is, I've noticed that the odds at the start of the races has changed the nominated horse. As I'd expect anyway. So, It would save a lot of time if I just entered the event, I.E. Wolverhampton, Dundalk, Wetherby etc. , and leave the horse blank on all strategies. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do that?

@rick-watson hi Rick, so sorry for not seeing this, i am at work until Thursday morning. I will look at showing an example of setting signals at the event level so you can use them on the correct score market, I am at the moment experimenting with one for Ryans Split Stake myself making a use of the first half market to time stoppage time in the first half, bit hit and miss at the moment but I am sure I will fathom it out

Yes, this is something I'd like to know the answer to. Is it possible to upload a template spreadsheet into Guardian that will populate the markets and maybe even the bots to use.
I'd love to be able to take the daily export of my strategies from BTC and (with some cheeky macros doing some data cleansing) get them into a format I can upload to Guardian.
Is this possible???

hi richard how are you with signals ? iv been trying to do a correct score bot mainly for second half goals and ryans correct score filter. the issue is the score may be lets say 1-0 so you would think that that would be the fav in relation to the rest of the score lines but it seldom is due to people backing the score that they think the game will be at the end of the match. so for example you want to lay at 60&70mins the correct score may be 2nd or third fav. iv looked into signals and you can set it up to monitor ov 0.5 ov 1.5 etc but that does not tell you the correct score ie 1-0 or 0-1 etc any ideas or thoughts on how to narrow this down .

The easiest way if you have either a lot of selections or multiple selections per strat or per race is this:
Open your bot file in guardian
Under the general tab change applies to selection to "Every Selection"
Under Conditions tab add a new condition as follows
Text comparison Condition>>a selection name>>for the current selection>>exactly matches one of the following<<The above you only have to do once per bot as long as you save etc
Make a mental note of the box in this new condition called text itemsThen all you have do everyday is
Open Guardian
Go to horse racing quick picks and add EVERY UK & Ire horse race for the day to Guardian
Apply your bot to every horse race
Download your picks for the strategy from BTC
Open bot and copy and paste all horse names into the "text items" box in the new condition
Close and saveSaves so much time not faffing about with nominated selections
Obviously you need to clear the previous days selections when you add the new selections.
The only issue I've had is btc software adds apostrophes to the horse names so you need to delete these or BA wont trigger. ie The software will come up with "Donna's Dream" whereas BA will have it as "Donnas Dream"Hope this is useful, let me know if it doesn't make sense and as always with bots test it in practice mode first
Andrew
This is for Horse specific strats only and not and not the race specific strats

@tom-2 for the ones that require no specific selection, just select the markets with ctrl-click , with the rules you wish to use in the top selection box and apply rule to selected markets. You could do the same with the short odds rule, but you would still have to manually go through and choose the selections in the drop down next to the market for the nominated selection

Big shout out to @Richard-Coxon who has made us a Bet Angel user guide for BTC Automated strategies.
The example used is Lay The Beaten Favourite.
Enjoy!
Great guide and easy to follow - i've played about with my settings and got a lay the beaten favourite strategy setup on BetAngel Guardian using a similar method to the Maria Lay split stakes method.

Hi Richard, I'd like to ask you another question, if you don't mind.I've setup the automation today in practise mode and it's running sweet. There wasn't too many bets and it took me about 10 mins to complete them all, apart from: "Lay Short Odds". It found 83 selections for today. I probably wouldn't have enough time to enter all of them.
My question is, is there a quick way to enter them or do they all have to be entered individually, like the others?
-
@richard-coxon Right, thanks mate.
-
@tom-2 Back The Fav is Win Only Market, so 5f Mdn Stks - although, there is a filter in Guardian Markets tab, so select the filter, UK and IRL Win Only, and it filters out all the place markets
-
@richard-coxon Thanks Richards
-
Can you tell me what this means and which one I should be selecting in Bet Angel?
It's a Back "The Favourite" bet and It's the 3.30 at Nottingham tomorrow,
a, To Be Placed
b, 2 TBP
c, 4 TBP -
@tom-2 all you need to do is in guardian, from the automation tab, select import rules, then browse to that location you have downloaded your rules file and select the rules file you wish to import. It will then import it to the bet angel automation folder local to your copy of bet angel

@richard-morris
Hi Everyone, Silly Question!
I loaded up Bet Angel for the first time today and when I downloaded the automation bat files, I noticed that they have the location as,,,
C:\Users\konge\AppData\Roaming\Bet Angel\Bet Angel Professional\SVExports\Values.csvDo I have to change the location of konge (konge is obviously the location of the creator of the file) to my user or is it OK to just import them as they are?
Many thanks in advance.

@richard-coxon thanks , thats perfect , how will the nominated selections work with 3 rules?
Further to this, here is a bot that you use with the Pace Lay selections (and odds rules). It uses a Maria staking plan ( all you need to do is edit the Bank value (stored values tab) in the file - currently it is set to a bank of 1000 - then it will calculate the stakes to a - well approximatley - 3% lay liability on the bank per selection). You can have up to three nominated selections per market.

I am not saying this bot is a good idea (or bad idea - it depends on your certainty of the selections) it is merely an example of how to have multiple conditions and rules applied to more than one runner in a market within one rules file.
I don't like 'straight' betting with bots in this manner, it can be costly if you loose and you also pay commision on the 'winners' so double whammy there. Plus, it is also difficult to get it in to an in running profit condition (this bot has no profit conditions by the way) as you cannot pre determine the odds on all selections, so one at 3, one at 6 and another at 11 will take a while to reach a profitable secenario to green out on in running. It's good if all selections loose, but if one wins, then your left with a hole in the bank plus commision and even three legged horses win occasionally. All I am trying to say is, test the theory before putting it on a live market, record the results and I think you'll probably bin it.
EDIT - I just remembered, I was trying to get a bet matched at 11 when testing, so, you need to edit the rule "Lay Selection 3 At 7.6 to 11" the time until is currently 13 seconds before the off, change it to 59. There is a catch all in the rules that allows only one matched bet per selection, so outght to be fine anyway, but better safe than sorry.

@william-maynard
Sorry I forgot to quoite, this is inresponse to : can you nominate more than 1 horse per rule?
Yes you can, as an example you can have a place lay bet rule, apply that to guradian nominated selection 1. Then duplicate it, and apply to nominated selection 2, duplicate that lay rule and select apply to nominsated selection 3, etc. You need to make the nominated selections columns visible in the same way I explained for the rules below. I think you can have up to 5 nominated selections. Obviously the more selections you choose, impacts your probabilities, so backing 3 horses you'll loose on 2 for example so your bot needs to be doing something to counter that. I am testing a lay bot at the moment, I have settled on only laying one selection now, as it was difficult to get enough layed at a price that prevented a loss every time one of the selections won. So I now 'trade' on a lay to back in running bot basically using the lay selections from the set and forgets to test it all.

@richard-morris is there a bot for any of the other strategies that we use? the football / tennis / cricket? or is it just the horses?
