Started testing a lay under 3.5 goals strategy on the selections. The results sheet is available on the link in the title post.
It’s a set and forget with a twist;
Lay under 3.5 goals pre kick off risking an amount you’re happy to loose, so in this case £10. It’s a total loss of £10 if a trade looses.
Set the Auto Cash Out feature to cash out when any profits reach 50% of the risk, so in this case £5.
Testing with a bank roll of £1000 and it’s up to 5.5pts profit so far
(I am actually testing with £1 stakes to get accurate data and converting to £10 stake results on the spread sheet)
Small sample size so far; 25 matches over 10 days, strike rate at 68% but in profit with a really nice ROI and it has taken it’s fair share of losses.
It’s potentially a silver lining for these selections that have been pretty wretched on the SHG testing i originally intended them for.
From the stats on the matches tested so far I can’t see any glaring difference to what has come before, which is a good thing if they are capable of producing these results.
It’s also clear that with auto cash out you are not always going to just get the 50% of your risk in profit. There have been a quite a few that have paid above that and a few that have paid back over 100%! Don’t ask me how that works, but it’s making the strategy profitable.
My original aim was to hit a strike rate of 70-75% with a win making 50% of the risk in profit.
What that does mean is that if you traded the matches live and traded out whenever the profit rises above 50% it would also work, and possibly be more profitable as it would be you exiting the trade, not the auto cash out feature that may equally trigger the exit for less profit than is available at times, but i haven’t traded these live myself so i don’t know.
Early days but will keep testing this one as feeling optimistic from the results so far. I would love to finally begin to carve a consistently profitable strategy out of this filter.
