Hi Guys. Would love to hear peoples thoughts on historical data and recent results.

It may differ from sport to sport (I trade cricket) but how much weight do people like to place on recent results?

What's recent? So many years, matches? Do guys maybe even a stagger % of weight from recent to older.

I currently have my own data base and have been playing around trying to model a blend between the 2.

    Looking forward to some replies.

    Thanks.

@Andy I like a blend of both with a touch of knowledge, what I mean by this is there are certain teams that are solid and have been for a while and will continue to be.

Man City & Liverpool for example, then you have teams like United who are buying and new manager so it will be different for them and till they get in the groove.

For me it's always the 3 step process:

    • Step 1 - Pre trade research.
    • Step 2 - In play - Is whats happening in line with my original idea?
    • Step 3 - Post match - Reflect on what happened.
