Horse Racing Strategies Megathread

@Paul-Donnelly yeah I think this has been mentioned before it's basically a lay strategy not sure why it was called C&D perhaps just a mistake by me in OP.
This hasn't performed great in forward testing so far so be careful if following.
-
@Karl-Pick sorry I perhaps needed my post to be a bit clearer.
I have done everything you suggest. Actually the results are now appearing after closing the Strategy Builder and going back into the mentioned strategy.
But there are still not rules about Course or Distance having imported it.
-
@Paul-Donnelly you need to click on the strategy you downloaded it will have a circle on the left that selects it, it will open up, then go to bottom and Run Strategy....all results and details are there! I could send you a screen shot but mine is doctored and different from the standard C+D version.

Hello,
A complete newbie doing the 2 day trial.
So I successfully imported Lay C&D strategy above. The results seem okay.
However two odd things ...
- There is no rule in there that I can see about course or distance?
- There are no individual results showing at the bottom, even though it suggests over 1000 results.
Is this a glitch in the software? Or have I done something wrong with the importing?
Cheers,
Paul. -

Soz martin don't want to sound like a divvy, i used to click on the bottom of the email's and got directed to the results . Ive just done that on the football and seen this sheet is not now updated , i worked out you have binned a couple of the strategies. Done the same for the horses and a bit lost, seems different , i'm not a big blogger user, so its easy for me to get lost in all the noise, i'm not subscribed to the horses as i don't know much about horse racing. Thought if i could see how the strategies where performing , maybe i'd give it a go. So in lay mans term help
Ask @Ryan if he will let you have 24 hour trial access to Horse Racing so you can have a look, its different league to the football...believe me!! He may so No, but everything is worth a go!
-
@Terence-Wilson wonder if we could get something added to the website that automates it, seems mad for me to manually keep putting in results into a sheet when the data is all automated.

Is it worth having a “currently in forward testing” thread? That way we can add strategies to the first post with a date added so we can monitor going forward?
Yes brilliant idea, everyone trying to come up with the next brilliant strategy, always nice to see and tinker to try and improve! Also it would give plenty of interaction I believe!
-
@Terence-Wilson not sure what you mean mate the results are in the software, you just run the strategy it's all automated for members
-
Has the results thread been moved, i haven't been on the forum for quite a while . it's a lot different than what i remember.
-
@John-Folan go for it mate! I can edit the op and add some stuff from the ones I am testing

@John-Folan gender is one I need to have a look at
@Caroline-Middlebrook made a really good point on it a little while ago. Males being better for backing and females can be for laying. Certain types anyway.

@Martin Hi Martin, just working through the filters here - is this filter just picking horses 3-10 years old at the courses listed? Doesn't make a huge amount of sense why this would work, I know it looks good on the backtesting but what is the thinking behind it?
Horse age seems to affect quite a few strategies. Along with gender. There is a logic to it as 3-10 seems to work well generally but outside that on either end is rubbish. Along with DSLR it’s always worth looking at these as filters.

@John-Folan I've created a Back to Lay 2.0 does this work better mate? rules_export (1).json
Looks much more like it doesn't it? Also works as a TROB as well for added confidence
Had this running on BFBM for a few days on small stakes. Early results seem to marry up with the results on the software, which is promising!

@David-Milligan you would have to ask him but I think my reasoning makes sense (well to me anyway!)
