I'm trying to have a look to see if I can automate at least some of the matches on my strategy (overnight and those where I could be having a life) but I'm not sure how viable it's going to be yet.
Is there a way to simply add certain events to the strategy you've created rather than simply relying on added rules to pick the matches for you?

@david-pickett Thanks David

There's a guy on Youtube who has put some videos up. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaSFO2aKyH_88nY-1cDs2HQ
You need to search through his channel for the tuition vids though.@stuart-wallace said in Betfair Bot Manager:
Guys, i have downloaded Fairbot to try to do some simple automation (cash out on odds, or time,or score etc) - anywhere you can guide me as to the best way to start? IS there a tutorial?

Add the events on the markets page that you want to trade on. Arsenal v Man Utd Match odds for the example I am using.
As long as your rules are satisfied in your bot and it is turned on it will trade on those events. (Lay the draw if price is between x and y and the score is 0-0 for example).

Are there any bots that run on a server so don't need to be kept open?
I'm not sure but you could buy a virtual server. Don't know how much they are though.
Yep, subscribe to a virtual server and install whichever bot platform you use on it. I keep all my trading stuff on one now.
How much are they?? With cost of electricity these days may be worth having one rather than leaving my computer on all day and night.
Which one do you use?
I use Ionos like Kevin. The rest is as his excellent answer

I use Ionos but there are quite a few firms supplying Virtual Private Servers (VPS) such as fasthosts or eukhost. If you want to run software which would normally run on a windows pc you'll need to ensure your VPS is running windows but that will add to the cost. They're typically around £20 per month with windows. Others more technical than me may have better solutions re needing to run Windows but it works for me.
Setting the VPS up probably sounds a bit daunting but it really isn't. You connect to the VPS using windows remote desktop from your pc. The VPS provider will give you the login details. You can then copy the install file onto the VPS and install just as you would on a windows desktop or laptop.
I have remote desktop on my pc and phone so can connect to my VPS at any time. As well as making sure your VPS can run the software (i.e. has windows) you will also need to ensure it is UK based or has a UK IP address. Otherwise Betfair will check whether your VPS is in a country they accept bets from (reminds me when I was in Italy quite a few years back and Betfair had just blocked any bets from US and I had a bot running on a server which I then realised was US based. Panic ensued as I had some pretty big liabilities but Betfair also blocked bets from Italy so I couldn't sort from my phone. The missus wasn't happy as I took half a day sorting things... )
Hope that helps
K

Interesting. Not something I would have the first clue on.

Yes you have to set up each individual market, which is a bit of a pain.
On home page says there is a free trial for 15 days

You can set up certain score lines on Fairbot. You can tell it not to bet if score is 2 2, or not to bet if 2 2.
Shame there's no free trial I can see. So do.you have to select the actual market for your strategy rather than being able to select the event?
In this case I would need to set up multiple potentials for each potential.

The one thing I'm not sure a bot will be able to do however is go between markets if that makes sense. For example I may want to be looking at doing lay of the under 4.5 market @ 2-2 but if it goes 2-3 I'm still going to be loooking at lay under 5.5.
What I hoped to be able to do is select the event rather than the market and then select the HT scorelines for which I would still get involved. Do you think this is possible?

I use fairbot and it's quite simple. They have a free trial too. You can select the games you want and select the strategy you want to use on particular games. Also if you are struggling to programme your bot, you can email support with what you want and they will build it for you.
I found with Betfair Bot manager that it was hard to implement the strategies you wanted on certain games. I found it quite clunky.
Give fairbot a go it's quite cheap for a year too.
Cheers, I'll take a look
Also once you have set up your bot use small stakes as they can do some things you didn't expect.
