Set & Forget Football Strategies

@chris-osborne HI Chris , thought that is the case but i was wanting to know do you only trade if there is a difference for instance 100 points between the sides or just pick the matches on the filter regardless?

Regarding the U3.5 Backs strategy that is under review
It was suggested that on Saturdays only it would have potential to make profits by Laying to a liability of the same stake that you would have backed with for the rest of the week.
Today was another proof of that concept.
Four selections from the filter with one still to be played and using the same stake as on the spreadsheet we would be +£88.
Assuming that the last game ends as an unders win then +£78.....though it could be another win for a bumper day of +£121 -
I split mine over the 4 exchanges. If I think It's a sure winning bet and there's not enough money in the exchanges, I've also, considered 365 or one of the other guaranteed odds sites too, as I've got funds there as well. I'm only talking about the set and forget though.

@dave-tancock or ask for prices, you should get matched over time

I’m curious if people find a suitable game within the odds parameters but there is not enough liquidity. Only thing I can think of is either lower stakes or spreading the full stake over different exchanges?
-
@david-baker-0 it's very broad range and adapted from one Jon shared with me, still very early testing and will need refining later down the line but here you go: 0_1679074767801_filter-settings.txt

@Martin Really liked the last video you did about odds for set and forgets and was really intrigued about the lay the away team strat you’re testing.Don’t suppose you could let us know the filters you’re using, would love to have a little tinker with it.

Make hay while you can on matched betting, just a matter of time before you get gubbed unfortunately. Used to love the Bet365 2up one but these days you’d be doing well if that lasts a month before they cotton on to it.
-
@james-rome Ahh yeah, that makes sense from their perspective actually, they want the matched bettors, that would actually ruin that theory for me as I wouldn't want to mess up my subscription as I want to do Bet365 2ups soon. Still though if you are only trading on exchange value its worth a try for a month or two to try and get that extra profit for those people.

@conor-medlyn yeah already on OddsMonkey as still matched betting so have 0% commission on Smarkets and matchbook. I am gonna try using these two (liquidity permitting), weirdly it didn’t cross my mind, I just assumed there was a specific reason people mainly used Betfair.
I think I might have to look and see how much commission I pay on average and see if it's cost effective to switch over to smarkets or MB for some trades. Might start looking at the odds on all 3 and see what's what

@james-rome
I'm signed up to another match betting site for two years. (Seemed a good idea at the time) but all I use it for now, is to place one match bet per month to keep my 0% commission alive. -

What are people's opinions on this idea. Following these set and forget strategies on Smarkets I think would actually be more profitable than Betfair in certain situations. Having Oddsmonkey gives 0% commission on Smarkets, and, on many of the selections the odds you would be targeting and getting on Betfair are available on Smarkets. That extra profit would add up over the course of a month. Oddsmonkey costs £25 a month, but if you're bankroll and stakes were fairly high you would more than make up for this in the extra profit from no commission. In play strategies would make Smarkets a no go as the odds in play are often weak, but in terms of set and forget I reckon this would be a decent idea. They would put commission on you eventually if you hit the profit boundaries, which I think are 25K in previous 12 months, but while the 0% lasts I reckon Smarkets would be a genuine great option alongside Betfair. I just thought I'd put that out there for anyine who doesn't know.
becareful trading using smarkets with oddsmonkey i did that because my betting pattern didnt fit a match better i lost my 0 percent comission. atm was only doing £1 bets as well for like 2 weeks to try it
