Set & Forget Football Strategies
-
@Martin no not at all.. It wasn't criticism at all.. I get it if your busy checking all sorts here and there.. it can be time consuming thats for sure....... maybe it just stuck a chord with me as it's called Martin's over 1.5, but I get that your busy... it did have a few dodgey months so your right, although it did pick up.. but nevertheless we'll leave it there. Wasn't my Intention to criticise, anyway I've been working on a couple of set amd forgets of my own that are baring fruit. Once I've had more results I'll send you the filters or results. Or better both.... been a bit quiet the past few weeks.. although the good old winter leagues are back and should be ripe for the picking soon.... ️

@Arran-Shackell Looks super dodgy. I bet the bookies are scrambling to figure out who took the over 10+ goals bet.
-
@Correa
I came onto this thread to specifically talk about this game. Just one mad anomaly in my opinion.
-
@Correa I was watching that as it was also reccommended for the split stake strategy but 2 goals in the first 20 minutes meant no bet: Was tempted to do it anyway as it looked like more goals coming but wanting to follow Martin and Ryans advice at the moment and be strict with my trades. SHG would of been nice too especially is you kept backing them. The emails have been doing ok for me this last week apart from that one bet so far today. I also find it difficult to get on them in one hit in the lesser known leagues due to liquidity especially earlier in the week.
-
I've started paper trading football strategies this week, using just the daily email for now. Some of the outcomes in these lesser-known leagues have been quite surprising. For instance, today "Martin's Over 3.5 Goal Lays" recommended the Malaysia Super League match:
Kelantan vs. Selangor
The result? Kelantan 2 - 11 Selangor. Shocking 13 goals in a single match! Some matches do just seem off.
-
@joshua-armstrong Then I will let @Martin answer this as I know this is a strategy he knows more about
-
@joshua-armstrong I like 10 games personally that was always great for me!
-
@John-Malloy sounds like you are criticising me but doesn't matter you are welcome to do so and if not then that's also fine, may just be the way I'm reading that comment.
I simply don't have time to manually check the results of all of the football strategies, so I use the ones that have worked well for me or I see have great potential. Purely a time constraint, when we have the update in the future we can test all of this automatically. So it would be inpractical for me to spend 20 hours+ a week trying to track the results of every single football strategy.
Hope that explains it clearly to you.
-
@John-Malloy Are you still following this strategy? Is it the "Martin Over 1.5 Set and Forget" one in the members filters? Going to start tracking the data myself for a few months if so.
-
@Karl-Pick I don't think at any point I actually criticised anyone. And Im not expecting winners every single day. You jumped to two cinclusions there . The actual point I was making is that I was surprised it was being canned as Martin freely admitted he was barely checking the results. I was simply saying I find that quite surprising as he "thinks" its underperformed. Rather than recording the results.

@Martin Yeh seems to be the opposite tho, if I’m reading it right it’s stating you don’t want home odds lower than 1.7.
Logically it doesn’t make sense to me, as an example there is one game on tonight Start v Asane in the Norwegian 2nd division. It’ qualifies on all points other than Start being 1.65 (at time of writing).
Having said the above I won’t be making changes to a strategy that is doing well at the moment, but another one to look at when back testing becomes available to see what impact it has had.
-
@Andy-Donnelly can't say why they chose that but I imagine it is to do with not wanting short odds home teams
-
Guys, for the lay away filter can someone remind me the logic of having the odds restriction on home team?
Just trying to work out why it’s needed as long as you have the odds restriction on the away because that’s what we’re actually laying.
I don’t want to change anything as it’s working nicely but just wanted to confirm for my own sanity really
-
I also find odds play a part in my decision making with whether away team is higher in the league than home team.
If most other form lines are in home teams favour and odds are say 3.0 then I’m still likely to trade the selection even if away team higher in the league. When it starts going to 4.0 and above I’ll definitely leave it.
