Set & Forget Football Strategies

@nick-allan yeah it's a slow burner that one, quality over quantity @Wayne-Ironside has been tracking it nearly a year maybe he can give more insight

@matt-wood This is what i'm loving, the community spirit!
Something i'd like to add is that on my '1.5 Bet&& & Forget' strategy I set my auto cash out at 50p on a £2 to £3 trade. Typically, once that first goal goes in, my trade will green up and cash me out before the second goal. However, if i'm viewing the game i may stay until the second goal to collect.
50p may not seem a lot but it represents a return of 25 percent. Factoring losing trades, i usually complete 12 trades a day to come out with a profit. Of course, some days are better than others.
Anyone have variations on this? Seems to be working so far.

@julian-drake-clarke @Chris-Osborne has hit on a top point there. Track your trades as you do them and break them down by leagues. You might find that one or two leagues are underperforming and hindering your overall profits.
The O1.5 system is a data driven system if you are doing it as a set and forget so it is all about looking for patterns in your data.
Track as much information as you have the time for. Keep it in a spreadsheet and you can then look at patterns.
I have an O1.5 spreadsheet and like Chris said, I put all of the games the software spits out into it but I have a minimum strike rate and if a league drops below this, I stop placing trades although still keep adding the games as it may recover and rise above the minimum strike rate again. MLS has done exactly this on my data for an O2.5, it dipped and dropped out of 'tradable' leagues but after a while has improved and come back.

@julian-drake-clarke I can’t recommend paper trading strongly enough. I understand the poker comparison used to play for years but paper trading a strategy will save a lot of money.
Other things you can do are analyse results by leagues and discount the poor performing leagues although still Paper trade them in case there is a change in there fortunes

@matt-wood Thanks Matt, appreciate the feedback!
I'm only live trading @£2 stakes, rather than paper trading; this is because my emotional responses and level of risk are different when real money is on the line. You only have to play poker online to see how differently players bet and play with real money, rather than at practice tables.
For reference, I've started with a £50 bankroll and while I've had more wins than losses while learning, i don't seem to break out beyond my initial bankroll. Invaluable though the training has been (made losses on my initial trades but learned quickly to moderate stakes with logic rather than emotion), I now feel ready to take half a step further forward.
Let me ask the question another way; is there anything, any training or method that I could take advantage of, to improve on my success? As a bus driver, 'Bet and Forget' seems a made to measure strategy for me but i could adapt easily as trades become profitable

@julian-drake-clarke Welcome to BTC Julian.
I think you have seen how good it is here mountains of knowledge available.
You are 100% right about the blue chip companies, the guys here, Martin, Ryan and Adam actually listen to their members and actively try to implement things they hear from us.
In theory you won't need anything else. On paper scale up your bank, then scale up you £2 stakes and you will see what sort of return you will get.
Appreciate the quote, here is another for you: "You don't have to be flashy. You have to be fundamental." (bonus points if you know who said that)

@martin Its been just over a week since i've joined and i'm finding it all very exciting. I've loaded up the 'over 1.5' strategy and...bloody hell, it works! Tested it with £2 stakes and its giving me a steady return, which is amazing!
I'm just finding my way around and haven't got into stats. I'm just working on football as this seems the simplest strategies to put into action.
So, do i really need anything else?
I'm totally loving the community, as we all seem to be on the same journey together. The knowledge available is mind boggling and the support is something that some major Blue Chip companies could learn from. I'm seriously impressed!
Anyone here that has been in martial arts knows the saying, "I am not afraid of your 10,000 techniques, i am afraid of your one technique practiced 10,000 times!"
So, if i'm making a profit from 'over 1.5' goals, can i progress to making an income as a trader from just this? Do i need anything else?
Id be interested to know if others are getting the same progress too

Hi all,
Has there been some updates to the ELO Home filter? I've just checked the spreadsheet but can't see the Cincinnati / Toronto games on my filter (they're under different filters, just not the ELO).
Cheers!

Hey @martin, a potential improvement to the software could be an add on that notifies you (via email, text, telegram etc) that a match has met the filter criteria….. probably
been mentioned before but if not there you go.@ryan is this something we could add? like email alerts? seems a great idea

@fraser-cord thanks mate, I do miss the occasional day where I'm too late to do them but I get as many done as I can! Glad you are enjoying them

Just want to say a huge thanks to those who have provided the filters/tested these strategies. I have tried many different strategies over the past few weeks online but these ones are working really well. Cheers @Martin for keeping the spreadsheets up to date too, really helps when you know its not just a fluke that they make money short term. With Unders/Overs, if you place your bet inplay (usually up to 10 mins) you can often get better odds. Especially on under's as the games are unlikely to be high scoring. Just be careful though, an early goal makes the bet unviable.
