Set & Forget Football Strategies

@terry-heller Would 98 Saturday games be enough to assume a long term profit could be made by laying them ?
-
Using Pauls spreadsheet with Saturdays filtered into a group of their own laying with a liability of £10 would have produced a profit of £375.53
I have just used the back odds from the sheet but assume that these would be a fair comparison. -
Out of interest, is it just the Saturday games or is it certain leagues not performing well? In my goal strategies most of the English leagues haven’t performed well and as most of their games are on Saturdays that could also be a reason.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19994KZvO8akmvJ4GYl15VYKRwYRwnzPHmfpOd8lXH_s/edit?usp=sharingThat is a very useful analysis of how the strategy is performing without the saturday games included. I wonder if it is possible to just list the saturday games seperately and do a 'what if ' comparison of how that day would have performed by laying the unders rather than backing them.

I can see a bit of chatter on the U3.5 strat. I’ve been watching this one a bit over last few months and felt like Saturdays were horrid for this strat.
Thought I do a little investigating. Just did some very basic calcs on my phone using Martins results spreadsheet and it looks like it is DOWN $95.54 on Saturdays alone.
This seems to hold true both pre WC and post WC. Ironically the only period it was in profit on Saturdays was Nov/Dec during WC.
Take Saturdays out of the results and it looks a very healthy P/L.
I’ll double check this on the laptop when I get some time but seems to be a consistent trend worth consideration
very intertesting, something i will have a look at as ive been paper trading it for 4 months. Of course we could find this out in mins with the football software back testing, cant wait for that bit of kit, hope its coming soon

@sean-fitzgerald is it those 3pm KOs? I've always disliked those games!
That was based on all Sat games.
I thought this would interest you based on your previous comments re: 3pm Sat games.
I’ll have a look at the 3pm games specifically later
When you remove the 3pm games and just look at all other Sat games (excl 3pm) they run at a loss of $30.71
So the 3pm k/o games make up a large portion of the losses on Saturday (roughy two thirds) but even removing those Sat still runs at a loss.

@martin ok thanks. Only asked because I was using that to choose which strategy to try next.
which ones are you currently doing?
-

Hi Martin, yeah Ive added it to my own, as its worth monitoring at least, I was thinking, well the thought hit me on Saturday, surely it could be possible to try the Thomasz method and do the exact opposite for under 3.5, then just heard earlier on a new video thats exactly what you have been tracking, Ive created a filter for that method myself, also got a btts thats utter garbage too lol,,, that could get flipped....
so are people laying over 3.5? anyone out there doing this and any idea of result? i can imagine its early testing and ill start paper trading this to get an idea if its valid, juts wondered if anyone had a number of months results?
-
@dave-tancock do you mean for the trading ones? I'm only including the ones in the daily email for this as too many people were following the poor performing ones, perhaps I could do a separate sheet for all strategies regardless of performance but I want to keep the main sheet for the top performing ones.
-
The main results sheet only has 3 strategies when I look. Is there somewhere else to view the monthly results for the current set and forgets or am I doing something wrong
-
@caroline
Do you mean something like this? It might do in the meantime as i havent got an actual spreadsheet for set and forget
Enter your bank in the box marked 1 and will show you your percentages
If you then put the lay odds in box 2 and how much of your percentage you want to risk in 3 it should then show you how much to lay
so in this example im using 3% of my bank
Lay odds are 3.9 so if i stake £2.59 then my total liabilty will be £7.51......or 3 %
-
Afternoon, Is there, or has anyone created a spreadsheet for the set and forget football systems that allow you to create/calculate percentage of bank and stakes as liability?
I've had a bash but my spreadsheet skills are not great and I'm getting stuck around the IF function
Many thanks
