    March Review
    What a cracking month! Mostly helped by Cheltenham.

    Race to £100 Challenge
    Considering I was away for roughly 2 weeks and have been somewhat limited in availability I'm quite pleased. Bank went from £38 to £51. At this pace, I hope to reach my goal before the end of the year!

    My Trading Journey
    If ever I needed proof of manual trading vs automated trading. This has been by far my best month! That is mostly down to Cheltenham and using opportunities to enhance performance. What a difference compared to this time last year! +83pts

    Getting those orange and green belts this month!

    Yesterday was a strange one. Lisloran drifted out and was comfortably 3rd, but just before the race started something must have happened because the fav and 2nd fav shot right out and Lisloran came right in. It was too late to change anything as bots had fired, bets were placed and I had moved on.

    2/3 -£11.50 to bring the bank back down to £45. Still stuck in the yo-yo box so will be glad to finally break free!

    Today's Trades
    30/03/2023 15:25 Limerick Wrecking Ball Paul - Win £1

    Back to it today. It looks a bit tough so wouldn't be surprised if we get a losing trade today. Then again, if I could predict when a losing trade was coming I'd be retired and living on my own private island!

    I had a real rollercoaster yesterday, 8 straight wins and then the final 2 lost. Unfortunately that means a -£19 loss bringing the bank down to £41.50. I seem to be stuck in this £40-50 cycle! Oh well, keep on and we'll get there.

    @martin Thanks.

    This was intended to be in the spirit of Keith's 3% club and only last a month or two. I think little challenges like this help keep any FOMO away.

    @martin said in Fortune Favours the Bold:

    @dan-mackinnon on a £50 bank? bit risky!

    Oh it's precarious! But this is "just for fun" and I wouldn't dare do anything that aggressive with my own bank. I wanted to bump it up because I started with £20 and if I hit a losing run and the bank drops back down to £20 I'll probably end this challenge. Thanks to the snow, holidays, etc., it's already gone on longer than I anticipated.

    Don't worry, I'm not throwing all your bank management training to the wind.

    I've returned from my travels and all I can say is thank you automation! I'm terrible with jetlag so in the morning would spend 10-15 minutes setting up my trading for the following 2 days and leave it to it. I'm glad I did because I had one of the best trading weeks. If ever I needed any more proof that I was the problem!

    I've noticed the bot results are much better than my attempt at set and forget. Therefore, I'll post my selections as usual, but when WFH I've set alarms to try to recreate as close to the bot as possible. However, if I start feeling twitchy and need to fight the urge to interfere I'll switch back to S&F trading.

    Today's trades
    20/03/2023 14:20 Navan Pont Audemer - Win £1.50
    20/03/2023 14:35 Southwell The Grey Falco - 2nd fav AVOID

    2/2. Forgot to put the prices but ended up with another £1 to bring the bank up to £47.

    I’m away for a couple of weeks so no trades for me. Have a good Cheltenham everyone!

    @ryan thanks for that. I really appreciate your kind words, especially as you've been a huge help with my long-term thinking.

    By thinking long-term I've realised my risk tolerance differs from my day-to-day patience. Like everyone, I'll do my best not to have a losing day so considered myself very risk averse. However, over the long term I'm willing to be quite aggressive if I have confidence it can recover.

    I'd happily take a couple of bad runs to catch that long winning streak! You'd never catch me saying that a year ago.
