Hi guys, Having watched the Man Utd match tonight against Red Boys, I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on purely trading the goal market? The amount of money matched on Man U tonight was unreal and I'm sure many cashed out for a profit after the first goal, I'm also sure many got their fingers burnt and lost a lot by the red card and final (shock?) result? I understand you get more value on the match result market however it's matches like this that makes me glad I tend to purely stick to over/under goal markets. Any thoughts?

I like the goal markets, because it doesn't matter who scores them.

Which is one of the big pluses and when a team gets a sniff of something and it flows through the team and they are firing then you can get some results like last night - which don't give you a nightmare to manage if your in the match odds market!

@oliver-preen yes the vast majority of us trade more on the goals market. I use a couple of strategies for the match odds markets they very much protect against the situation you described last night, the last thing a trader should be doing is backing heavy favourites to win a match.

I think most of us trade the goals markets in one form or another. If you have a look at some of the Proofitible members filters in the football stats most of them are focussed on the goals markets.

The advantage of the goals markets is it doesn't matter who scores whereas in the Match odds your options are reduced.

@ryan's O1.5 split stake is a popular strategy.
