Morning! Been here a while but first time in the forum.

I like to automate as much as possible with my strategies, but struggling with the filters exports

Has anyone ever cracked the BTC exports to BFBM import file? I'm struggling with club names and EventIDs. Specifically, EventIDs not exporting and club names being different in BTC and BF.

    Cheers!

Ignore everything except the selection ID. You just need to rename the column SelectionID. If you are backing a team to win you can also change the club name column to SelectionName.

When I take it off the horse software that’s all I change except adding a Provider column and then put the strategy name in for each selection.

    Good day all,
I'm quite new here, one of my first posts on the forum.

I've been really impressed with BTC and the community, and particularly the profitable members filters for Football.

Unfortunately my circumstances have changed and i'm not able to spend much time now trading, i've seen the posts about automation and Betfair Bot Manager. I'll admit it doesn't make much sense to me so i'm hoping here would be able to help a simpleton like me.

Sorry for all the questions, but here goes!

So i understand that you buy or subscribe to BFBM, and you can load or create bots on there to automate trading and link to your Betfair account, but i assume i'd need to have my laptop on all day/evening for this to work?

If not then i've seen mention of VPS, if you pay for one of these then i assume it can be running all day & night and my laptop is not required for it to work?

I saw something about BFBM that said you can only run 2 instances or 2 of something at the same time - can anyone explain what that means as i didn't understand?

Are you able to run all the profitable members strategies on bots or are there some that are not possible to automate?

    Thanks in advance!

    David

Ok so I've decided to take the plunge. Ordered a week's trial of BFBM. I'm on a Chromebook so no Windows desktop. I've bought a VPS for a month and gone with Time4VPS. The problem is I have no idea what to do now. I obviously need to load BFBM into the VPS but can't seem to work out how to do this on a Chromebook.

    Any thoughts welcome

    Thanks

Time4VPS should have given you some remote access details. If it's a Windows server they'll normally give you an ip address or hostname and a username / password combination that you can use in Remote Desktop.

On Chromebook you should be able to use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.rdc.android

@steven-white Hi. As long as you log into the same Betfair account as you currently have setup on BFBot will not need an additional licence to use through VPS.

@john-folan yeah that what i thought john and have tried it but its not worked. To be honest im leaning more towards buying Guardian, its £30 more a year but you just don't have the issues you have with BFBM, the customer support with BFBM is so good though so its a shame

Strange. Still if it's not for you, go with what you are happy with.

@nick-allan Interesting. I only do mine, I don't load in the selections though. The bot does the filtering to match the software. If you want to differentiate by loading them in then you need to put the tipsters rule under staking and call one Martin's and one John's(for example) Then import from the software and that will sort it. Each strategy will then only fire on the selections you import with the corresponding tipster/provider name.

@john-folan problem is john it doesnt work, for example you and martin have a short odds lays strat, if you run them together and allocate the horses you want to target they keep firing in each others markets. So if martin has horse a in kempton at 1:30 and your short odds strat has horse b it doesn't distinguish between them and fires in both causing issues

Hey guys had a quick question. I'm trying to load up a bot for a back the favourite strategy I'm not sure how to set this up on BF BM anyone have an idea of how you set up a bot that fires on the favourite in the market say 10 seconds before a race starts? I know there has been some discussion on the forum in regards to this but I can't find where it is.

@nick-allan two separate bots and use tipsters. Relatively easy to set up.

So I want to trade two separate strategies in one market at the same time and with BFBM you can't but you can do it with Bet Angel, is there any work around with this or do you have to have BFBM open on two separate computers? I've heard that there is something on the market that can replicate your desktop and load up two versions of BFBM at the same time that eradicates this problem has anyone else done this? And what was the name of the product?

@john-folan the only issue ive found is that i tried running 2 shorts odds in HR your john and martin short odd, and they would end up firing in each others markets, so say martin has one in 1715 chelms but john doesnt and they both fire and vice versa, again its the limitationswith bloody BFBM not being able to allocate a horse to a strategy like you can
    do with BA guardian

@darryll this would work. You just need the market loaded. You can run multiple strategies using tipsters.

NOTE: Make sure if you have more than one over 1.5 strategy running that it is set up on a separate instance of BFbot. If you don't have another machine set it up in a Sanboxie virtual machine. I had 8 of these running on one PC once so easy to do.

I'm wondering if adapting the strategy to function by placing the selections under a tipster would be a way of getting Ryan's Split Stake strategy to function under one instance of BFBM without interfering with any other O/U 1.5 goal strategies? I have done VM's in the past, but something usually goes wrong.

I haven't set up any tipsters in BFBM yet, but I have watched the video tutorial and it seems like it could work. Does anybody know any reason why it wouldn't work?
