Laying horses at short odds is ridiculous. Can’t believe how many just don’t perform. The short odds strategy I posted last month has been mental. Martin’s doing well too. I’d be on that if I didn’t have one

Have you made a bot for that in BFBM? I presume you would have to import the horse selections

Has to be a bot. You don’t need to import the selections once you have the parameters set as Bfbot can filter it the same as the software

Thought I'll reply on this thread

How have you got the filter for the horse finishing 2nd or worse in the last 5 races in BFBM can't figure out how to do that

Also is there a way in BFBM to select beaten favorite in last race as I know I can select beaten favorite in the 'Filter horse b'y but not sure how to make it for the last race

You can’t restrict by last five races sadly in bf bot. I’ve asked them to add this. It takes its information by the form guide offered by betfair

The Beaten Favourite in Bfbot only applies to the last race so that should be ok

Ah did not realize that about Beaten favorites can implement some new strategies on that now

With BFBM not being able to restrict to last 5 races are you just not using that filter? I presume you would get alot more trades

    Which strategy is that for?

Updated the instructions for using BSP as an entry point with a minimum back price and also a maximum lay price. Tested and working 🙂

its only for back testing anyway so don't need it for the upcoming races, I mainly wanted to find out the longest losing streak.

@carl-ritchie There shouldn't be any difference for past races. For upcoming qualifiers, the "Favourite" rule will use the last traded price rank.

So basically the favourite rule works for upcoming qualifiers (but could obviously change as the prices change).

@carl-ritchie BSP rank 4 shows 16600 results for me with no other filters, there must be something else going on. I'd need to see the rest of the strategy config to check it out further. The gzip file you uploaded earlier isn't from our software...

@carl-ritchie You may have a point there, I think you've found a bug. The data is there but the favourite rule isn't doing a very good job of picking up those horses.

Try using the BSP rank instead:

Or if you want one that you could use before the race, you could try the forecast price rank.

oh yeah I know that, but there is 20/30 races a day so even for 1 year that's at least 7,300 potential trades. But the software is only showing 3000 trades from the start of last year. so just wondering is it missing some events etc

    Ok hopefully this is it.

I am laying the 4th favourite and wanting to run recovery on it. When I back test on the software it only gives information for about 3000 trades since 2021. I just thought this should be alot higher.

But if anyone wants to look at my bot and see if there is something i should maybe be adding to it any feedback would be appreciated, only been using the software a month.

Carl at the moment the historical data only goes back to 2021. I believe there are plans for @Adam to load data further back at some point.

Its lay the 4th fav in uk/ireland races with max odds of 14, the main results i was trying to find was longest losing streak to use recovery on. But the stats software shows a lot less trades than what my bot actually gets on in a day. Im sure im just being a newb and missing something.

For example on the stats software if i select April 22 and lay 4th fav with odds between 1 - 14 with 1 min before the race, it shows only 189 trades for that whole month.

But the bot is easily doing that in a week on the uk ireland races

Hey guys quick question, how accurate is the horse racing software for back testing. I currently have my bot running a strat and it does about 30 races per day which is on average 900 per month and for this year it would be 4500 approx. When i back test it for this year on the horse racing software, with the same rules, it only gives me results of 798 trades, which seems nowhere near close. (these are all uk and ireland trades with the bot)

    Im i missing something?

You would need to put up all settings for the bot for someone to recreate. Also your settings on the software as well.

I’ve found it pretty similar so far(there will always be a few differences).
