@John-Folan Is anyone still using this strat? Is it still recommended?
I noticed there are no results tracking on it in spreadsheets I can find since November 2020. Presuming it's still kicking it as it's been mentioned in the first post on this thread. Just checking
(Same question for the Garys 2nd half goals one as well?) -
@Daniel-Mills Some nice easy strategies. Definitely easy to set up the bots, just need to have the filters from here making it all easy to add. I've done a few and it's just a case of a few minutes adding the football match selections into the software

@Daniel-Mills
Hi Daniel - I've tried to set one up to lay the next unders market, but just cant get it to work at all. Given you have succeeded I will try again. Thanks for the inspiration !!

@Daniel-Mills
Understood - how do you find just leaving the bot to do all the heavy lifting? Is the bot trading more games than you physically could as a human? Do you do all/some of trading with BOT and some manually still?
Cheers,
Alex -
@Greg-Mitchell Glad to hear it's simple to set up. I'm keen to give it a go and see what I can create - its the way forward I think for sure.
Can you import rules from other software (ones that give you selections)?

Is anyone on here using BF Botmanager for football inplay trading? Cheers, Alex
Hi Alex, I have a few:
- One lays the draw at half time based on scoreline.
- One backs a goal by laying the next unders market at half time
- another based off the same strategy but looks for odds higher than 1.8 after 65 mins (so arguably, these two SHG strats act as a combined split stake)
first one is still in the testing phase (strategy, not the bot - bot works fine)
the other two are profitable and were profitable before I set up the automation, so no concerns there.I don't use inplay stats like SOT, just looking for times, scores and price. All other filters are done in the BTC football software.
-
@Alex-Rule Yep it was simple to set up, once you start thinking like a bot… No particular reason other than I had a strategy purge to concentrate on more consistent/profitable ones. No I hadn’t tested manually before. I was only using small stakes.
-
@Greg-Mitchell how easy did you find it to set up and test your strategy? Any particular reason that you stopped? And had you tested the strategy manually before?
Sorry for all the questions aha

@John-Folan do you have the rule files for your strategies above mate so I can get them added to my bot?
Which ones? All the files are there?

-
@Alex-Rule I have done in the past, but just put it on hold for now. I had a bot set up to back over 2.5 goals if the outsider at KO was odds of 4 or more and they scored first in the first half.
-
@Nick-Mulvey Understood. I have a version of this strategy that doesn't use in play stats - just number of and prematch odds so that should be fine.
-
@Alex-Rule Yes there's settings to say what minutes to bet in. You can set it for inplay stats but not all matches will be able to have that data available to them, especially something like SOT, only the main leagues will have that. Yes you can set a minimum odds range to bet in
-
Hi all,
I had a couple of questions about setting up an inplay football strategy.
- Can you set the bot to enter at a certain time in the game in MINS eg. 60 mins?
- Can the bot search for games that meet both prematch and inplay rules such as shots/SOT?
- Are you able to set a min odds requirements before entering the market?
The rules would be something like below.....
Game time = 60mins
Number of total goals in game = 2
SOT = 6 or more
Once the above if found enter at odds of 1.4 or above and let the bet run.Would this mean the bot scours every inplay game for the above conditions and actions accordingly?
I am brand new to the idea of automation and want to get my head around the capabilities before committing!
Cheers,
Alex -
@Paul-Foster Yes they do, particularly on horse racing, but you get the bot to place the trade out bet before the off at the same time as your initial bet but once your initial bet is matched, Set the required profit level and then set it to KEEP the bet.
That way, as soon as the odds your hit required profit your money is in the queue to be matched without any delay.
-
@Paul-Foster Surely on an automated DOB the closing stake is in the market just waiting to see if the market takes it ?
You make it sound like you are manually trying to close out.
-
@Greg-Mitchell I've given up on these type of stragies with a bot. When inplay the odds just move around too much, so you never can get out as you expect. Tried with both BFBM and Bet Angel. Neither got any where near.
-
@Sean Thanks Sean. Absolutely bewilders me why that option would not be ticked by default though.
I have noticed none of the values updated when I ticked it so I guess that setting is only forward looking. I can deal with the totals being £20 out as long as it stays that way, will keep an eye on it. Cheers again!
-
@Andrew-Gray If you're on the BETS tab, it doesn't subtract commission, so that total will always be out.
The P/L of your strategy should be calculated after commission. Just make sure in General Settings that the boxes "Use market base rate as Betfair commission percentage" and "Take commission from overall market profit" are ticked.
The totals for each strategy aren't always exactly the same as the totals I've calculated when I record my results in my spreadsheet, but at the moment they are only out by a few cents and will be from markets where two or more strategies placed bets and I subtracted an extra cent of commission from one and BFBM calculated it doing the opposite.
