@Nick-Mulvey Thanks again. Yeah, I (eventually) figured out the tips one matching up last week.
-
@mick-mcmahon Football - Martins Lay Away.gz
Here you go, any questions just ask. Just ensure you're importing the tips correctly and they're registering correctly with the matches. Easy to do under the "Manage Tips" section in BFBM -
@Nick-Mulvey Oooh Thanks. Could you share your bot - I can then compare it to mine and see what I missed.
-
@mick-mcmahon I always have 4 columns when importing: Provider, EventId, SelectionId, MarketType
If you want me to have a look I can, I have a bot set up working for it already -
Hi. I'm just trying to get my head around how BF bot works (It kinda seems counter intuitive at the moment...)
I have the day off work and thought i'd have a mess around. The onlyfootballsoccer strategy that has any games today it Lay Away 1.0
So I've attempted to create a bot for it. I've renamed the Away Selection Id column to SelectionId and Filter name to Provider and imported them from the btc footy exported file
I've set the Tipster name to match the Filter name in the bot and set the lay odds range.
And imported all the match odds markets. So to my mind, because the the away team id is specified, that should link them up?

@Andrew-Gray Thanks for the offer. It's essentially what i did with Bet Angel so i have 2 months and decent results so far.
As for the cricket, I think you're trying to place 2 different bets with 1 bot. I may be wrong but I think you need 2 bots, 1 per team (or similar)
-
@alexander-hughes - I did something similar with the lay the 3rd fav strat. It misses some still but gets way more than the original filters/BFBM file did.
Let me know if you want to have look and I'll post it up as well.
Also wondering if anyone can help me, I'm trying to set up a "Cricket Sweet Spot" bot from a strategy mentioned on the Cricket forum, where you just lay each team in T20 matches at 1.4 in running and hope that both sides get matched for a profit.
But you don't want to do this if there is a heavy favourite so I've attempted to add in some kind of check to see if the favourite is 1.5+ (i.e. don't place any bets if Fav is below 1.5)
Here is the file of my attempt:
The issue is that sometimes it only places a lay on one of the teams and not both, I've looked over the settings again but cannot work out what I've done wrong
Thanks in advance!

@Greg-Mitchell Ah, i see what you mean now.
Will test it tomorrow if any qualifiers as there are none today.
Cheers

rules_export (1).json
This should do the trick, just deleted the 3rd Fav Criteria and the Horse Age Criteria, also removed the Max number of Qualifiers (which was 1).
That should give you all the horses running at the specified courses in the specified class of race with the particular going.
-
I can't work out how to do that from this file.
Appreciate your help.
-
@alexander-hughes You can't get an output from the software that is solely the race, but what I said will give you an output that has every horse in the race, which is basically "solely" the race although it has several horses picked.
So basically it has "tipped" every horse in the race. If you import this into BFBM, then set your bot to bet on the 3rd Fav, thats what it will do, regardless of which horse that is.
-
@Greg-Mitchell Actually now i've looked at it that's not going to work, I don't think.
The only things related to a horse are Age and class.
Looking at the options, I don't see how I can get an output that is solely the race.
BFbm did get back to me
There is no option to pick specific races for strategy. There is only option to import tips on specific horse/selection so that strategy bets on it.
You can import markets from your own file to the main MARKETS grid view. If you do not load any other markets then strategy will be able to bet only on those loaded markets at the main MARKETS grid view.
At the main MARKETS grid view you will notice import/export markets menu buttons that you can use to export loaded markets and to import those markets back to the main MARKETS grid view. Try exporting few markets to see the file format. Then you can use same format to create your own CSV file with markets and import them.
Few other users also requested better functionality to specify specific markets at which strategy should bet. So we will look into this and prepare new functionality that will allow users to specify within their strategy at which markets/races/matches strategy should bet on. This might be available in the update. If you are interested to try it out before official release then please let us know and once it is ready we will email you details of Beta version.
So i'll mess about with that to see if I can find what information i need to use on the CSV file.
-
@Greg-Mitchell Obvious solution. Thanks.
I used the one in the OP then deleted a few courses.
-
@alexander-hughes What criteria do you use to select the race or do you just pick every race? If you set that criteria up in the BTC software and make sure that you don't include any horse specific criteria. The software should pick every horse in the race. Then either by export or using the URL to automatically upload all selections into BFBM.
If you have the bot set up properly it should then only lay the 3rd Favourite (at the time of bet) regardless of which horse it is.

BfBM support answer
"It is not possible to import favourite position or to import race data at "Manage tips" form. "
So if anyone has a Lay the field they couldn't import it Obviously you could pick from within BFbm though but i want the lazy way if possible.
So maybe it's not possible but maybe you guys know better than they do.
Can you use Import tips function in some way to select races to place a bet on the actual 3rd favourite rather than named horses which only bets IF they are 3rd Fav ?
Start with BTC info
Take market info from Bfbm (i use BQ but it'll be same process on BF with different ID numbers etc)
I currently manipulated via power query to get
This works if Hidden Commander is 3rd fav and time/odds are met. I want it to bet on ANY horse in that race if time/odds/3rd fav are met.
Thanks in advance

@Adam If you could the software to make me a cup of tea at about 14:00 every day, that would be great! (Quite strong, no sugar).
I mean obviously we've thought of the basics like this! You can choose whether you want an absolute or relative cuppa, absolute being a specific clock time or relative being "x hours before the match"
-
@Joe-Beeston you would need to create it in BFBM they have some tutorial videos here:

Hi all,
I have a couple of strats that I would like to forward test in BFBM, how do we go about creating a .gz file?
Is it a case of doing this from scratch inside BFBM or is there another route from Horse Racing Stats or the json file?
-
hi guys im still learning the bfbm ways and using a couple of horse bots and it seems too be working ok! Except my irish dobs one hasnt fired at all yet so hopefully i get time too monitior that today, i havent attempted any football bots yet but was wondering does anyone have one for the footie lay away 1.0. where you can just load games in morning and let it manage them during the day placing them before each kick off etc? i was going too use it and learn from the basic conditions etc to create ones going forward if anyone has.
thanks
