    rules_export (1).json

    rules_export-3.json

This should do the trick, just deleted the 3rd Fav Criteria and the Horse Age Criteria, also removed the Max number of Qualifiers (which was 1).

That should give you all the horses running at the specified courses in the specified class of race with the particular going.

    @Greg-Mitchell

I can't work out how to do that from this file.

    rules_export (1).json

    Appreciate your help.

@alexander-hughes You can't get an output from the software that is solely the race, but what I said will give you an output that has every horse in the race, which is basically "solely" the race although it has several horses picked.

So basically it has "tipped" every horse in the race. If you import this into BFBM, then set your bot to bet on the 3rd Fav, thats what it will do, regardless of which horse that is.

@Greg-Mitchell Actually now i've looked at it that's not going to work, I don't think.

The only things related to a horse are Age and class.

Looking at the options, I don't see how I can get an output that is solely the race.

BFbm did get back to me

There is no option to pick specific races for strategy. There is only option to import tips on specific horse/selection so that strategy bets on it.

You can import markets from your own file to the main MARKETS grid view. If you do not load any other markets then strategy will be able to bet only on those loaded markets at the main MARKETS grid view.

At the main MARKETS grid view you will notice import/export markets menu buttons that you can use to export loaded markets and to import those markets back to the main MARKETS grid view. Try exporting few markets to see the file format. Then you can use same format to create your own CSV file with markets and import them.

Few other users also requested better functionality to specify specific markets at which strategy should bet. So we will look into this and prepare new functionality that will allow users to specify within their strategy at which markets/races/matches strategy should bet on. This might be available in the update. If you are interested to try it out before official release then please let us know and once it is ready we will email you details of Beta version.

So i'll mess about with that to see if I can find what information i need to use on the CSV file.

    @Greg-Mitchell Obvious solution. 🫣 Thanks.

I used the one in the OP then deleted a few courses.

@alexander-hughes What criteria do you use to select the race or do you just pick every race? If you set that criteria up in the BTC software and make sure that you don't include any horse specific criteria. The software should pick every horse in the race. Then either by export or using the URL to automatically upload all selections into BFBM.

If you have the bot set up properly it should then only lay the 3rd Favourite (at the time of bet) regardless of which horse it is.

    BfBM support answer

"It is not possible to import favourite position or to import race data at "Manage tips" form. "

So if anyone has a Lay the field they couldn't import it 👎 Obviously you could pick from within BFbm though but i want the lazy way if possible. 😊

So maybe it's not possible but maybe you guys know better than they do.

Can you use Import tips function in some way to select races to place a bet on the actual 3rd favourite rather than named horses which only bets IF they are 3rd Fav ?

    Start with BTC info

    3rdbqbtc.JPG

Take market info from Bfbm (i use BQ but it'll be same process on BF with different ID numbers etc)

    BQmarbtc.JPG

I currently manipulated via power query to get

    BTC3rdpick.JPG

This works if Hidden Commander is 3rd fav and time/odds are met. I want it to bet on ANY horse in that race if time/odds/3rd fav are met.

    Thanks in advance

@Adam If you could the software to make me a cup of tea at about 14:00 every day, that would be great! (Quite strong, no sugar).

I mean obviously we've thought of the basics like this! You can choose whether you want an absolute or relative cuppa, absolute being a specific clock time or relative being "x hours before the match" 😉

@Joe-Beeston you would need to create it in BFBM they have some tutorial videos here:

    Hi all,

I have a couple of strats that I would like to forward test in BFBM, how do we go about creating a .gz file?

Is it a case of doing this from scratch inside BFBM or is there another route from Horse Racing Stats or the json file?

@Adam wow that would be amazing having a one stop shop for bet placement within BTC, very exciting stuff. My last question - will you be able back test inplay strategies E.g LTD at half time or backing a late goal?

I know there will loads of data points to look at for these but I am just curious if it's a possibility at some point in the future. Keep up the good work!

@Alex-Rule I just couldn't give a reliable estimate mate so I think it's better not to just pluck a date out of the air, apologies!

To give some context, BF want us to add bet placement functionality to the software to get access to the vast amount of historical data that we need. That's added a whole new dimension that I wasn't expecting and is what I'm working on right now.

It will be good ultimately as you'll be able to place bets within the software if you want to, like I say it's just a whole other set of features that we didn't expect to need at this stage 😖

    Thanks @alexander-hughes & @Martin
I got there in the end.

Now I have a football strategy that on paper looks OK, I want to make some variations of it and run them simultaneously to see if I can tweak it into greatness. So I thought automation would help.

But, in this international dry spot, I thought I'd play with some horses 🙄

If anyone else ever ends up here:
make sure under staking you have the bet on tipster added as a rule and give it a name (same as the strategy works) then go through to the market(s) you want and add them to the markets list and go and choose your selections. Tick the race and the horses in that race you want to work with and click the send My S. To tipster button. It'll prompt you for a name which needs to match the tipster rule under staking.

@Adam Perfect, thanks for the update - I can work with CSV files until then.

I know you are probably very bored of it @Adam but how far way from launch is the new software with all its bells and whistles?

Can't bloody wait for it to go fully automated!

    Cheers,
    Alex
