BFbotmanager Automation Discussion

@Paul-Foster Yes they do, particularly on horse racing, but you get the bot to place the trade out bet before the off at the same time as your initial bet but once your initial bet is matched, Set the required profit level and then set it to KEEP the bet.
That way, as soon as the odds your hit required profit your money is in the queue to be matched without any delay.
-
@Paul-Foster Surely on an automated DOB the closing stake is in the market just waiting to see if the market takes it ?
You make it sound like you are manually trying to close out.
-
@Greg-Mitchell I've given up on these type of stragies with a bot. When inplay the odds just move around too much, so you never can get out as you expect. Tried with both BFBM and Bet Angel. Neither got any where near.
-
@Sean Thanks Sean. Absolutely bewilders me why that option would not be ticked by default though.
I have noticed none of the values updated when I ticked it so I guess that setting is only forward looking. I can deal with the totals being £20 out as long as it stays that way, will keep an eye on it. Cheers again!
-
@Andrew-Gray If you're on the BETS tab, it doesn't subtract commission, so that total will always be out.
The P/L of your strategy should be calculated after commission. Just make sure in General Settings that the boxes "Use market base rate as Betfair commission percentage" and "Take commission from overall market profit" are ticked.
The totals for each strategy aren't always exactly the same as the totals I've calculated when I record my results in my spreadsheet, but at the moment they are only out by a few cents and will be from markets where two or more strategies placed bets and I subtracted an extra cent of commission from one and BFBM calculated it doing the opposite.
-
Has anyone else noticed that BFBM is reporting incorrect P+L?
I have tracked it against my actual BF balance (no other manual bets or other bots are running on my account so the only thing betting is BFBM).
On Saturday it reported a loss of £33.06 but the actual bank dropped by £45.79
Sunday it report a loss of £39.13 but the actual bank dropped by £49.60It's not exactly a rounding issue, so something must be wrong with it?!
Realise BFBM has nothing to do with BTC but as there are many users of the software on here I thought it would be worth asking on here first before trying the BFBM support.

Hi all
Took a while because of a few issues at work and also with the nippers, but I finally got to do the U2.5 strategy with your assistance and I have managed to get it working well.
It still sometimes gets out too early which I think is a problem between the "expected" start time (when the bet is placed) and the actual start of the match - ie just got out of one after 11 minutes rather than 15.
I know there's something you can click which shows you what the strategy is "doing" under the hood, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is.....
Can anyone point me in the right direction!!!??

@John-Folan that's really kind of you. Worked through a few of their videos last night but they are quite dry viewing aha. I'm really keen to explore this further and see what can be done with it. Watch this space! Cheers, Alex

Hello all - I'm Alex and I have been BF trading football since Nov - I'm very green and new but have a real hunger to learn more about the world of trading and specifically automation.
I had a couple of questions about BOTs (I have had a quick look on Youtube but keen to hear from the horses mouth about bots)
- Can you use them on prematch and inplay strategies? Yes
- Do you import your rules from BTC or another stats software provider? on bfbm yes
- Can you ask the bot to request and hold out for better odds as % increase of what is being offered? BfBm you can ask for a better price by a number of ticks so yes
- Can you import selections into the bot and can you ask the bot to search for games that meet those rules (so you can trade late night on markets in different time zones)? If you had every single football game loaded but this would make the bot probably unworkable as it would need to cycle through too many games
- Is BF bot manager's customer service any good? Absolutely. I use their forum and they always answer. They will also add in things you ask for in future updates if they think it is worthwhile to their users
Sorry for the question dump but I'm really keen to find out more! Cheers, Alex
Hope that helps

@Matthew-Sheehan You can set the Green Up/Hedge/Trade Out to work only on bets placed by a specific strategy on a specific selection if you need to, this will avoid greening up unwanted bets.
-
@Greg-Mitchell ah I thought I had one strategy greening up bets I made with another strategy but I don't think it is, now you mention it. I do think I need another instance running, one to test strategies on simulation mode and one to keep the live ones going. I'll use Sandbox or a VM like the guys mentioned

John - firstly can I just give you abig thank you for this thread and in particular the BOTS provided. I've learned so much from your posts. I'm looking for a bit of help regarding Gary's SHG BOT. In short I just dont get how it works. Its seems to be using the Correct Score Markets but I cant see how it then bets on them to get the SHG. Also, I cant see how the selections are imported or indeed work out what selectionId to use in the CSV file. Can you help and sorry if I'm being thick.

Been a while since I've looked at that one. You have to load the correct score market in manually. This bot was done in the days before all this integration was available. It's shouldn't take too long there are never that many.
The way it works is it only bets during the half time break(under market conditions). Then under selection conditions it will lay the current score only in the correct score market. I did test it thoroughly quite a while back and it does work. Let me know how you get on.
