@andrew-camp also my thought, think Nadal needs to take the 1st set but it has the makings of a long match

@andrew-camp this is kind of my thoughts too on this one, these usually go to 4 or 5 sets but I've seen Nadal be hit through against big hitters who can defend (like Djokovic here a couple of years back). Hoping for a great trading match
Think we need a strong Nadal start though. If he takes the first set, we could be in for a belter.

Almost time for the men's final to cap what has been a fantastic tournament and the first one that I have actively been trading on, with great success so far.
I have been reading this site https://lastwordonsports.com/tennis/2022/01/28/australian-open-mens-final-prediction-nadal-medvedev/
throughout the event and these guys seem quite good at predicting how a particular match might go.
With regards to today's final, I was struck by these comments which if prophetic, means we should hopefully get lots of opportunites:
******The rivalry between Nadal and Medvedev has been exceptionally enthralling. Excluding their first meeting, all three have had one player move ahead in the scoreline before an attempted comeback. The 2019 US Open final finished with Rafa eventually winning but the proceeding two matches, both at the ATP Finals, were split evenly with the loser having served for the match (Medvedev served for the match twice in 2019).
In other words, history suggests there is a high likelihood of massive momentum swings. That said, Medvedev is a different player from a couple of years ago and should have a firm command of the baseline. Expect Nadal to come forward a lot, maybe stealing a set or two with this well-timed tactic and spurts of energy, with Medvedev eventually prevailing.******
Any thoughts?

Definitely the best player by far in the tournament won it thoroughly well deserved. I guess Finals experience and a touch of nerves we're the key in the second set.
Credit where credits due, I have been super critical of Collins over the past 12 months mainy because of her on court attitude but she's had a phenomenal tournament and hopefuly she will learn from the experience if she's in this position again either in a slam or tournaments such as Indian Wells.
Barty is so far ahead of the rest of them when on form, Osaka and Swiatek especially on clay in Iga's case when they are on form are the only players right now who can get to her current level, she could dominate this year, just depends how much she wants to travel from Australia. Last year took a huge toll on her not going home from this time last year until after the US Open due to the strict Australian Covid rules

Absolutely outstanding.

Well, well, well.

Now it’s getting interesting

@andrew-camp probably could have gotten slightly better value as Barty struggled more than I thought on first couple.
Looked at different markets. You could have layed Barty on match odds and backed on set market totals and would have made a small profit.
I backed at 1.67. Think it went out to almost 1.90 inplay.

Looks very at ease now. This lass could definitely develop into the best ever. Just fantastic.
That’s a big call, can’t see her playing long enough to match Serena
Wasn't necessarily talking about quantity. More the sheer quality of her play and the range of her arsenal.
