2022 Tennis Trading Thread

@Reece-Bedford Just had a look and it’s not opening up for me either. Football stats are fine though.
-
@Andrew-Gray just tag @Adam and he will look into it (he may not tell you but he does do it )
-
Thanks as always @Martin
I did notice some more filtered through later in the week. Not sure if it was just a minor blip or something then. Will keep an eye on it
-
@Andrew-Gray I'll tag @Adam as yes there should be more tournments on, may just be updating
-
@Adam @Martin - Sorry to pile it on you guys, I know you are mega busy with the footy updates but you did just do a video about the Tennis so I took a look at it yesterday and noticed there are not actually many matches on there to filter?
Like if I do a filter for say all matches where the BF fav price is greater than 1.01 (so it should bring back all matches really) then this is what the results are:
When I take a look at Betfair there are at least 10 tournaments on and pages of tennis matches with odds.
Fair enough if you only have stats for WTA and ATP tournaments (?) but even if that were the case I would expect to see far more matches even just for those 4 tournaments that are currently on?
Cheers in advance as always

@Tony-Hastie I'll tag @Adam

Hey folks. Im looking at putting together a back the server strategy. My main rule at the moment is Projected hold over 65%(ATP average) In a match today the projected hold stat was 70.5 but player 2 had a 72% projected hold. Can the software list the projected hold of both players(or highest stat)? I cant seem to find a way... Will I have to look it up manually?

@Rene-Ostenfeld that's a decent return for a set and forget type strat. Yeah it can be tricky at times. I do prefer watching the matches though when I can, as I can usually get a feel for how the match is going. Plus adding in the in play stats to the mix it does help me atleast.

@Craig-vaulks I am still working on lay the first set strategy.
I also find the tricky part knowing when to take the profit. In the French open I have set it at 25% of the liability and have made an ROI of 8,1%. That’s on 18 games where I have been able to make the trade.
I made it kind of set and forget not to be influenced by how the game is going. Tennis is so volatile but picking up on the correct swings I have yet to master. -
Hedged in tie break left more potential profit on maia
-
Laid swiatek after 1st set at 1.05 removed all liability after maia broke in 2nd set.

@Taff-Phillips yeah it's part of why I like trading tennis you get plenty of movement in a lot of matches, even without winning the set. Finding the value entry point is obviously key, but I'm still working on exit points getting the balance between being staying in for too long for more profits and hedging to early for less than I could of made.
There are plenty of angles to trade from also, such as if a strong server is 0-30 then backing them offers a good risk reward ratio. -
I've had a few days off trading whilst I've been busy with work and setting up my new trading calendar but I have to say having kept my eye on quite a few tennis games I am absolutely amazed at how much the odds can jump around and present opportunities. Even before a layed player even loses a service game in the second set there are profit opportunities. For instance I have noticed if the player who loses the first set is serving first in the second set, even by holding serve until like 3-2 or 4-3 there is profit to be taken on a hedge. Obviously if they get a break of serve its great and you can grab a bagful of ticks just on that.
I did some small test trades last week and was really surprised at the sorts of profit that could be gained at such low liabilities!!
I'm just trying to tighten some filters up now as at the moment I am relying on purely games > 3 sets % to start me off.

Having a lay on tsit at 1.1
-
Glad I stayed in khach match, just hedged for a nice profit.
-
khach came back to win 1st set going to have a small lay on him at 1.09
-
watching khachanov match may back him if he loses 1st set. Will see how 1st set plays out though.
