@alan-de-arth Hi Alan, sorry I misunderstood he question
PJH is projected hold. A percentage of how often it is expected that player will hold their serve.
BPS is break point saved. A percentage of how often it is expected that player will save a break point when faced with one.
BPC is break point converted. A percentage of how often it is expected that player will convert a break point when they have the opportunity.
Hope that help -
@martin-futter Thanks Martin

@alan-de-arth @Ryan-Carruthers has said he will do us some videos on the software soon. I am also struggling to use the software without some training videos. Bare in mind this is still in beta mode technically and therefore not quite the finished product.

@stephen-morfey Thanks Stephen

@alan-de-arth
Here's a couple of screen shots of where to find the PJH etc on the Betfair Trading Community Tennis Stats engine.
-
@simon Thanks but i'm not sure where to get the PJH, BPS and BPC stats from or what any of it means. Apologies if i'm missing something obvious.
-
@alan-de-arth Hi Alan, if you look at my post about 4 or 5 below this one to Ian, it outlines how I make my selections
-
@simon How do i found out more about PJH, BPS and BPC so i can learn how you make your selections? Thanks in advance.
-
@frode-lia thanks for the heads up bud! Yeah Iโve been meaning to monitor it for a while, this is the kick up the ass I needed
-
@frode-lia @Simon @Ryan-Carruthers Could be a idea to monitor, Simon?
-
@ryan-carruthers The WTA went 4-1 on @Simon lay strat yesterday.
-
@Ian-Lydon Iโve not really set myself a maximum to be honest, but donโt like to go into the 1.9โs, the idea is to lay a favourite that shouldnโt be, and your getting into the realm of pickโem at those prices so less edge. Selection is for the dog to have no less than 1% worse in PJH, BPS and BPC, preferably better. I go purely on stats. I wonโt get involved if there are injury worries, or the 2 players have really differing form, but thatโs as far as Iโve been looking into it at the moment. Only suggestion would be to look at historical data and see how often they lose the first set or go to 3 sets.
-
cheers Simon....and what odds is a max to lay at?.....and you selection process similar to those being used.....difference in PSH?.....I,m looking at a straight lay system but trying to assess it on chances of losing set 1 or at least 1-1....and trading out on break so assessing slow starters....but its an assement not a stats based system at moment...any ideas?
-
@ian-lydon Hi Ian. I have 2 strategies with these. I lay from the off on one and let the lay run using 1% bank.
The second I lay from the off too and then trade out when either player breaks for profit or loss, or exit if no break by 4-4. I risk 2% bank for these. -
@simon Hi Simon,,,,,are you selection straights lays from the off?
or if they take lead? -

Looking at the forecast for Barthel v Di Lorenzo today, Barthel gets battered on literally all of the stats, ran her through my sheet and then some research on her I think this will present a good opportunity.
I am looking to back Barthel around 1.90 - I am thinking that her exp will come in to play in this game, I think she will struggle and might even lose the 1st set, so if she does I will then back her OR if she is having a really tough first set and hits 1.9 but looks like she is about to enforce her game (Attacking player, with a big serve - look for her to be aggressive on points) I will back her.

@simon yep! I will do some value trades and get them up on the forum
