Couple of value trades for the men’s singles. I’m hoping there are some 5 setters and these get delayed a bit so I can trade the first thing.
First one is Basic Vs Laaksonen. Basic currently trading at 2.14 but I think he should me more like 1.7ish.
Also Mofils vs Dzumhur. Monfils is at 1.6 just now when I make it closer to 1.4. Not the most attractive price, but I think it’s value nonetheless.

Easy win on Monfils, loss on Basic, small green overall.

Rafa has retired from them, he has knee issues which are not helped by the surface and the way Rafa plays. He plays intense and stops hard on those knees which when he was younger his athleticism and strength allowed him to get away with it... now he cannot as much, so one hard stop it could result in a drastic downturn in his match literally straight away.

This is one reason why the clay suits him better he can utilise the surface better to slide.

@jonathan-mcdaid really unsure about Rafa. Pulled out of Brisbane (I think it was) last week and if you look at his hardcourt record over the past couple of seasons, he’s retired injured from the majority of them.

@jonathan-mcdaid one thing I would say for sure is it is definitely not free money. Maybe value but nowhere near free money. I would have laying Murray in his first round match as a much better option if looking for something closer to free money (again not free money) would take a miracle for him to win that one based on what we know so far and form of his opponent but then again Murray will fight until the end even on one leg!

@jonathan-mcdaid on paper looks good, would want to delve into form more though, None of them spring chickens anymore! Always weary this early in the season.

@sean-fitzgerald I agree $1.4 for DiMinaur is far too short he does normally start well but you would think he will start to fade after the adrenaline wears off!

@ben-price Events in Oz are perfect in terms of timing for me. Would certainly be interested in your ideas since I know the square root of bugger all about tennis!

@ben-price i’ll be tucked up in bed by then. The joys of having a baby who thinks 5:30 is an acceptable time to start the day. On the plus side, I’ll be up early to catch the later games!
