Hi....
Was reading the strategies page about lay the winner of first set.......
Does anyone use this regularly? Have you any figures on how it does? Have you added your own filters? Fancy helping a fellow member out?80)
Cheers
Stuart

Hi guys.........I'm new to tennis trading and although watch it on occasion I'm not up with whos who other than some of the big names....
I'm looking at putting a filter together based on laying the favourite........but was wondering is there much real difference between players ranked say 50 and those ranked 100?
I'm trying to work out how much gap between rankings to choose...if you get me...like maybe someone ranked in the top 20 playing number 122 might not be a great choice but would top 20 v 50 something have a much better chance? or 60 something 70 something...just trying to narrow it down....
Does it change if you look at womens/mens games?
cheers for your thoughts....

@col Shame there wasn't a hold of serves in the first games as that would of been a nice trade, I always get out for profit on the first set.
Did you watch it? Trade it?

@col I do matey
Acapulco WTA Final
My pricing on this one has Kenin as slight fav at 1.40, she’s the higher ranked player as well, I have been impressed with how she handles herself she’s strong mentally and doesn’t seem to worry and has a lot of confidence in her ability - I like how hard she hits the ball as well and is athletic enough to get around the court, but Wang is a tricky player to come up against she’s got a beast of a serve.
I am letting them both have a serve, if they both hold then I will back Kenin.

@martin-futter I reckon all 3 finals tomorrow should be rippers!
Even WTA Acapulco. Both girls playing very well. Reckon there will be plenty of trading opps there.
@Ryan-Carruthers You tipped up Wang earlier in the tournament, do you have an opinion how she'll fare here?

@col great shout!

Acapulco
Kyrgios ($1.81) v Isner ($2.22)
I was very surprised with Kyrgios price here. Had him marked $1.50. In great form albeit has been likely a mentally draining week for him with tough wins over Nadal & Stan & fighting the Mexican crowd. He is in terrific form though and BTC stats are strong.
Will give them both a serve, make sure Kyrgios is looking motivated then back Kyrgios.
Kyrgios gets the break at 6-5. Greening up @ $1.24. He's egging the crowd on who is jeering him after he broke

For value I again like the price on Coric vs Basilashvili. I’d make Coric about 1.5. I have had a pre match trade so hopefully by the time the game starts I have a bit of green to play with, and will back Coric after watching them both serve.
Think I’ll put Coric as a slow starter on my notes. Luckily didn’t back him until the end of set 1 so got a good green when he went 3-0 up and also straight backed him for the win, so a profitable evenings work.
-
@col yeah not a fan of all the gamesmanship to be fair, I wasn’t aware of the extent of it, didn’t see the match, just saw all the backlash re the serve on Twitter.

Ruud
The layers have been on Ruud and this game is now pick’em so no trade for me.

@simon The underarm serve was one part of it. I agree, it’s fair play too. But he carried on throughout the match. He treats Ed to forfeit at end of first set. Slapped balls around like he didn’t care. Hunched over after points like he was sick, grabbed at his knee. At one point he collapsed and grabbed at his knee to the point where Nadal came to net to check on him. Then at 6-4 in the third set breaker in between serves he walks after to change his racquet, twice! At a walk! Then carries on like a poor chop because the crowd were pro Nadal. He’s just the 2nd GOAT and was naturally going to get the crowd support.
He’s very unlikable and that’s coming from an Aussie!!
-
Kyrgios getting a lot of s**t for the underarm serve last night vs Nadal! I dislike Kyrgios as much as the next person does, but fair play, it’s within the rules and thinking differently.......and not showing the top guys too much respect which is refreshing and the sort of mentality (although maybe not that extreme) that you need of you want to beat one of these guys.

Backing Coric at 1.93 for a pre match trade. Looks way too big to me.
