@simon had a look on tennis insight nothing there yet or tennis abstract might have to look at the weekend, give me a nudge and I'll grab them
-
Nothing for me this week. I tend to stick to the ATP as it’s what I know best.
Looking forward to next week, 2 250’s on clay!
@Ryan-Carruthers any idea of the court speed of these 2? Marrakech and Texas? -
@dave-jessop

That one might have if not I'll check the inside of tennis insight for you let me know if this doesn't have the data you want matey. -
@Martin-Futter @Ryan-Carruthers Copy and cheers
-
@col Yep, its suits the harder court players buddy!
-
Anyone an expert on this green clay? The time zone is horrendous for me, always has been though given my trading aspirations I need to school up my weaker areas of knowledge such as the clay season. If I’m honest, this tournament wouldn’t Ben have been on my radar at all in previous years.
How does the surface play out? A quick google says it’s slightly faster than red clay but what else? I see Kasatkina has won the tournament in the past so suits players with a bit of variation? Any ‘local’ players who are ‘at home’ on these courts?

Couldn't sleep so was having a read through the forum so decided to get on Shapo. I was a bit late getting on Shapo backed at 1.71 when he was leading in the 2nd set. That was me glued to it till the end. Took the green when he went 3-1 up in the 3rd for a good profit. Loving the Tennis trading.
-
@simon They have, especially when they unleash!! It makes for some incredible watching to be fair - I cannot get enough!
Your summary of the match is exactly how it played out.
-
@ryan-carruthers I’ve not seen the replay of it but looked at the point by point this morning. Looked a tight first set, crazy 2nd set, and fairly straightforward 3rd. The games between these “next-gen” guys have been really entertaining recently.
-
@simon Mental game!!!
Lost the first set and come back to win it, drove me mental lol need coffee now!
-
@ryan-carruthers looks like this game will be delayed beyond my bed time again! So good luck to you, hope it goes Shapo’s way!
-
@simon Best thing about trading we can all have a different opinion and its ok
For once I'd not be too fussed if it didn't work out because I can sit and think well Simon one of my members has done well tonight and thats enough for me!
-
@ryan-carruthers Haha never good when opposing a professional, but good to hear another point of view! Don't get me wrong, I think Shapo is favourite here, if they were both priced evens I'd be backing him all day long, but for me the value is on Tiafoe. Good luck
-
@Simon
I am coming on controversial here but I have Tiafoe as 3.7! The value for me is with Shapo, I am going to be going in on him (Shapo) if they both hold their serve
Just whats come through from my sheet, I like Shapos style as well his serve is a huge weapon which I am hoping he will use to his fullest today!
-
Seeing some value in Tiafoe's price today of 2.85. I'd have him closer to 2.5. There really isn't much between them when looking at hold and break percentages on Hard court. I looked at clay stats too due to the slow conditions and both very similar again. Tiafoe faced Shapo last year in Delray Beach semi (also in Florida) and came out on top in that. Shapo has had more impressive victories so far at Miami (Tsitsipas being the bigee) so I can only think the market is weighing this too heavily.
-
@col yeah he’s having a great start to the season. Seem to be fulfilling the potential and getting some great results. His ranking will rocket after this week.
-
Gee Auger-Aliassime is a cool cat. Can Australia swap him for Nick Kyrgios??
-
@simon I agree with you here, I think we are truly blessed to have seen some of the greatest tennis players ever all at the same time and have given us some of the great games!
Novak defo only fussed about the slams!
-
@martin-futter yeah I agree. Feels that way to me.
In the GOAT argument, you also have to consider that Fed managed to rack up some slams before Nadal and Djokovic (and even Murray) were even on the scene. So if you weighted the difficulty of each slam win somehow, i'm sure Djokovic or Nadal would come out ahead of Fed.
