Once again in the WTA the old lay the player up a set and a break pays off. Doesnโt necessarily work all the time or on the ATP I wouldnโt recommend it but with the WTA โnothing is what it seemsโ a bit like the IPL but thatโs for a different thread

@rob-arkell no worries mate, Iโm glad and happy that Iโm able to contribute with a sport on the community. Iโm home in the UK till early March before my work year really kicks in and will be in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome all pretty much back to back. Hereโs hoping we have a great tennis year and get this thread thriving.
It's a hard knock life for some eh!
I fully expect the inside track on walkovers for those tournaments. There's a VB in it for you!!

@rob-arkell I worked the Oz Open for the first time in 2003 and that tournament is unrecognisable now from those days. Itโs my favourite tournament of the year purely because Iโm a Melbourne boy and I get to go home and catch up with mates and location wise itโs awesome. My liver loves when itโs over it must be said
The whole site looks space age now. Dunno how it was before. I'm slowly becoming a tennis nut so you'll be hearing a lot more from me. Thanks for all the tips and stuff. It's really helpful

@james-woodroffe I only really got into tennis at this years Aus open. But I'm slowly building my own little portfolio of the players. I find it fun too.
Wait for the clay season as well mate. Blokes youโve never heard of known in tennis circles as โDirt Ratsโ they pretty much only play on clay and are good for upsets.
-
@james-woodroffe And out. Nice one mate
-
1 set all happy days.
-
@rob-arkell something to watch also mate is when the big guys like Djoker, Rafa and Fed are playing and playing blokes who are probably outside the top 50 and itโs 4-4 or 5-5 lay the lesser player in that game if they are serving. The number of times the big 3 break serve in that game and then close out the set is pretty high.
-
@rob-arkell itโs a thing.
