Bulbik got a break in last set too. Paire normally good to back, after losing a set but his temperament can throw in towel towards end if a match if not going his way
I laid Paire out of spite. It’s not really professional and not something I’d recommend but I got perverse entertainment out of watching him make me money.
The guy is a bellend. -
I'm starting to look at split staking on this. Using James notion of first set and break up.
Basically laying leader and laying again if leader breaks early. Would only be for certain matches though. I'll try keep track of the results of this -

the lay the first set winner especially if the under dog takes the first set has worked on quite a few matches today. I monitored a few mens matches as well and they came good. Low liability trades as well so strike rate doesn't have to be amazing to be in profit I guess.
If a big underdog takes the first, like in the Halep game, always lay. I don't know the figures but the strike rate is pretty good
-
Hit and run in Marseille just laid Paire at 1.21 and then he promptly got broken at 4-4 for Bublik to then serve out the set and watch as Paire went from 1.21 to 2.02.
-
I cashed out on Pavluchenkova match when she was serving for the set.
My reasoning was that in that in the first set. Whenever she really needed it Kontaveit was able to pull it out of the bag and get the break.
But yeah. I always at least take out the red when there's an opportunity and often cash out completely. Had my fingers burnt too many times -
thanks guys ive been learning loads today. Watching everyones posts, monitoring matches trying to work out the thinking behind strategies etc.
Tried a few with low level trades to get a feel of how it all works.
Will be defo looking into this and following the tennis forum from now on. Good luck tomorrow everyone.

@gary-brown yep matey! That’s the thing laying at the bottom price and it can’t go much lower then don’t need loads of winners either

Tomorrow im going to lay 1st set winner, look to get out for anything around 15% of stake profit and above. The opportunity was there in every game but one.
With the 50% i got on halep today could of been great if i had a set exit. -
@Martin-Walker same here why I took it out early this time. Other ones left too long. Should learn to take the profit instead of waiting for the full amount after liability gone out
-
I took it at 0-30 aswell. I would of won 4 other trades today if i did the same
-
Definitely laying whoever wins this first set. Really tight match this and both players have a lot of fight

@gary-brown mate I would have been all over the Halep match in a heartbeat after she dropped the first set but was having a break. I hope you got on.
yep I got on this one mate. laid the underdog at 1.65 and cashed out when Halep went 3 -0 in the second set for a decent profit. I guess I could of got more profit if I continued with the match and kept my trade live.
-
Kontaveit v pav looking good early doors, both breaking serve first 2 games. I'll let this first set play out

@Ryan-Carruthers i was really interested to hear about how you go about your tennis trading and in particular your first set strategy. I was having a good time of things whilst in Oz backing blokes who I saw value in and getting out early doors in the first set. Either when the break came or they won the set. Since returning home I’ve been more laying the first set winner in the chicks. I’m more than happy with my knowledge of the players and in particular who I think is mentally weak or weaker from watching them heaps. I especially like the 5 match formula but is this purely for players you see value in from the get go or are say 2 of those matches where you’re thinking is “if they win the first set I’m laying them in a heartbeat”.
