@james-woodroffe I messed up on Giorgi also didn’t expect the Burel collapse after she broke at start of the 2nd set although judging from the mental fragility of the other French players should have expected it.Was going to exit if she held serve but never had the chance.
Also got money back on Cornet and Martic but lost on Ostapenko but overall a couple of pts profit

Scratch first day back on the tennis.
The Georgi match I made a bit of a meal of courtesy of a 2nd set fat finger on BetTrader that quickly punished me so took my red. Was able to back Cornet at 3.50 after she dropped the opening set to Tomljanovic 5-7 which I thought was awesome value. Cornet cruised thru the 2nd 6-1 and broke straight in the 3rd so that was day 1 back on the tennis. -
@chris-osborne there’s very few really good front runners on the WTA. Ash Barty is Osaka, Kvitova, Serena, Karolina Pliskova, Sabalenka, Halep you generally wouldn’t go against them up a set unless they playing each other. Most of the others generally will open the door to their opponent. Venus, Muguruza, Kenin all either start slow or open the door at some stage.

@chris-osborne mate she’s great for blowing leads when up a set and a break.
-
@james-woodroffe So true on both counts
I have a habit of exiting tennis trades too early - Giorgi is a player I will stay in longer
-
@chris-osborne yeah Georgi is great to trade as a general rule cause she’s mentally all over the place plus you get to just look at her.
-
@james-woodroffe Got my eye on the Giorgi game as well she's usually worth opposing. Good info on Burel

I’ll be trading tonight’s match between Camilla Georgi and French girl Carla Burel. Burel is a former junior world number 1 which she reached in 2018 and as a junior made the finals of the Oz and US open both obviously played on hard courts. I haven’t seen her play but I like the fact she’s well priced against someone like Gorgi Georgi who’s talent is often undermined by her temperament. I’ll be playing it cautiously but also expect Burel to believe that if she’s going to make it then the likes of Georgi shouldn’t overwhelm her. On the same court the following match is between Zvonoreva and the bad Pliskova sister both incredibly flaky so there should be plenty of opportunities to capitalise on poor servers games. The 2nd match however might be a bit to late for me I’ll just wait and see how the first pans out.

Because some of the players haven't played for a long whille, I'll be taking a cautious approach for the first round mainly focussing on Lay 1st set winner

@james-woodroffe Looks interesting I take it your using trading software and what site do you use for Inplay Stats?
I’m using BetTrader to enter mate and watching the match. When their website isn’t crap. WTAtennis has players service hold percentages for career and season. I’m looking for players under 60%. A lot of the lesser girls I know because of work.

@chris-osborne the first two sets generally mate. However if a player goes up a set and a break I’ll only do it on their service games.

@james-woodroffe Do you do this throughout the whole game or just in the 1st set?
-
@martin-futter yeah whichever player is serving I’ll lay them at those entry points. If that’s what you mean?
-
@james-woodroffe nice work, are you laying both players on serve?

-
@james-woodroffe I think it always will as there's always some players who cannot serve for toffee!
-
@ryan-carruthers I read about it last year when there was nothing going on and it worked well upon the restart and early this year. The odds are up for day 1 so there might be a couple of matches deleted. It’s good to hear that it’s worked well for others over the years.

@james-woodroffe I have seen this work over the years, had a few traders back in the day trade off this as well.
