Been a member for a wee while now but never filled one of these out so since it's a quiet day.......
Who are you? Simon Muir
Where are you from? The Granite City (Aberdeen)
What stage are you at in your trading journey? I'd class myself as a novice, been a member of BTC for 9 months and the progress I've made from total newbie to novice wouldn't have happened otherwise.
What's your background? Numbers! I have a degree in Quantity Surveying and have worked in the oil industry for 12 years. As for betting, I did a small bit of matched betting but found it very tedious, and moved quickly on to advantage play, and now into trading as I want a sustainable income not reliant on keeping bookie accounts, plus i find trading a lot more rewarding!
Why did you join BTC? I was fumbling around trying various systems totally blind, I wanted to join a community where I could learn how to trade properly, and the attraction of having such easy access to professional traders and able to ask them questions and get responses was the main draw for me. I didn't realise how little I knew before joining here until I now look back.
What do you hope to get from the community? To learn from others through success and failure, and share ideas I have and get other peoples input into them. Also somewhere to talk to like minded people as my friends or family are likely to call the police if i mention laying horses.
What are some of your trading goals? i'd like to earn enough from betfair trading to work part time, and eventually one day, make enough to quit my job and be able to spend more time with my family.

To be honest it has been coming for a while now I am afraid the days of having continuity in football has gone we will become another Chelsea new manager every couple of years

Who are you-Kevin age 60yrs young
From Peterborough but now live in Kings Lynn Norfolk
Stage at in Trading-Have been Trading on and off since Betfair started mainly for fun but would like to be able to be more disciplined in both Trading and Research
I am currently a HGV 1 driver but getting tired of 70+hrs a week so want to slow down and earn some money through Trading
I joined BTC the biggest thing for me was the software and community as you all know its good to talk to like minded people who understand what you go through
My Goal to become more disciplined in my Trading and improve my research. -
@james-everard welcome! yes we email out some potentially good football trades. in my experience of people who come from a betting background the biggest struggle they have is learning to evaluate and constantly check their trades in play. in general, they tend to punt more and let things run too long. my main advice would be to make sure you track your trades live to make sure what you thought would happen is happening, and if it isn't get out of the trade.

New member here signed up yesterday. My names James from Chelmsford. I have come from a betting background and joined Betfair approx. 6 months ago. Have had enough of losing all my money and want to get serious and cut out the mistakes I keep on making probably from my betting background. I have watched lots of videos on utube and I am starting to understand trading a bit by bit. Any assistance or tips would be highly recommended. Do you email a daily list of potential tips daily or do you have to look up on the trading community ?

What stage are you at in your trading journey - Early days Rookie Trader currently, I have joined to learn how the markets work.
What's your background? -Started of with a 12 year military background before leaving and starting my own company, have since worked on many projects focused on telecommunications and automation systems in different sectors such as Utilities, Oil and gas and Transport. No particular background in betting.
Why did you join BTC? - A combination of always being sport mad from a early age, both playing, watching and having a flutter now and then and from listening to the BTC podcasts while on my travels with work. Interested to explore what trading could bring me as a little side earner but want to start off on the right tracks. I have a small bank I have set aside to learn with.
What are some of your trading goals? - As I have limited time to invest currently I have a goal of a 18-24 month window to try and understand/read the markets and there behavior better to then invest effort and time in automation strategies and also streamlining researching methods. I intend to focus on Horse Racing, football and also explore the Cycling markets during the season. -

What stage are you at in your trading journey - I'd say novice. Using some strategies, but trying to hone in on 1 or 2 to focus on. Always on Football. But i'm also keen to have a crack at Tennis
What's your background? - Long time punter on various sports, including Football, NFL and Tennis
Why did you join BTC? - To learn as much as possible, improve discipline and long term, I'd love to make a 2nd income from trading.
What do you hope to get from the community? - Support and experience from pro-traders. Looking to be steered in the right direction
What are some of your trading goals? - A 2nd income is an extremely long way off, but I'd love to make it a reality.
