@darri Some great advise I know i need to sort m discipline out I think going to paper trading for now will help. I didnt want to do this as thought using small stakes even if I lost would help me learn. I think the best thing for me to do atm is post my selections right down the odds and wait and see what the results are. I am looking long term i was thinking why i got into trading I believe i got the skills to do it I think i need to chnage my mindset and treat it like a job.
I was thinking of my goals what i wanted to achieve for this season and the 1st one was get 300 results for both filters and really i dont need to trade these with money to get to that point. That was a milestone to see if hey are profitable so ill go with that for now paper trade get to 300. Its a small achievable task. I think my biggest thing is i want to be good at this so maybe i need to slow down take small manageable steps and ill get there so this one i can do and ill go from there

@james-rome an honest review of yourself is best way to go with the so called trading bubble. Iv talked about this numerous times. Get your trades you want from the btc filters or your pre match research in the morning. write those games down or plug them on your flashscores. Set reminders of when to enter. Id encourage trading these games and not logging on here until you have successfully completed the games on your list. The forum although a fantastic resource for learning can also be flying with trades that look appealing. When keith/alan/ryan/martin post a trade i dont touch it, its not my strategy and i dont know the true value of their pick. They either win or lose, i hope they win but it wont be for my benefit. Once you have done your trades then log on here an interact like you normally would. Perhaps continue to post a daily watchlist and just update from it. Sometimes a blog can also be a hinderance because you have to come clean about losing so might add a few extra trades to try peg back a big losing day.
Discipline is the key to trading long term. Plenty good strats out there but really hard to manage them. These tricks of the mind all help. Place your trade, delete it from flashscore, stay off the forum, stay off any score updates and go do something else. If you cant do any of these things well then we start to deviate from trading and the addiction side comes in. Remember think passively, dont rely on trading, in time discipline will improve, youll have confidence in your strats even on losing days, iv run a blog with full transparency for 2 years now and depending on when a person joins they may see me have a great run or a bad run, it doesnt matter long term ill do well. Dont put pressure on yourself. Use the forum for knowledge and self improvement it doesnt decide how good a trader you are.
Fomo kills traders and good ones. Try to think of these trick people have suggested and trust me in 1-2 months of doing it, youll then feel comfortable enough to be like myself and not get veered into rash trades just because others have posted or there is a tempting scoreline to get involved with. There are thousands of trades to get involved with, dont deviate in the plan just cause you see something you fancy, thats actually a gamble.
If you are trading with real money then you must have a good tried and tested strat? If not go away and paper test for a few more months. These 1.5s on the ints how long have you tested this? Sometimes the reason we get involved in other things is because we arent yet convinced our own stuff is good enough yet. Paper test and build confidence.
This whole thing is about mindset bud. There are questions you need to sit down and think about, so that going forward you have focus on a set way of trading. This thing about over trading is easy to get right, just place trades and turn everything off. Its hard at start but its like a drug addict going cold turkey, if we cant get access to trading then we cant then do it. Over time we build discipline.

@james-rome probably be more meaningful to show as pts won or lost rather than a monetary value
-
@dan-mackinnon I think I may try posting the profit/loss part from Betfair as then I am holding my self to account as then have to show everyone what I actually traded.
-
@james-rome if you're going to be updating this blog, do it all at the same time. Say it takes 1 hour, do it all in the morning, then you've got the rest of the day to yourself. You'll probably find you might have been tempted to trade out of boredom as well.
Like you say, do it for 21 days and see. If you feel you're definitely missing out and not getting the results you wanted then you can go back. 21 days is nothing when the only potential downside is you've missed a few winning trades.

@james-rome the summer has shown that it's more about quality than quantity. Some of the pros posted around 30 trades per month and still make decent profit. When your filter comes up empty and the Daily email has no selections you can give yourself the day off!
If you're doing set and forget trades you could allocate some time in the morning to put all of them on and then leave it for the day. Check the results the next morning when you do the following days trades. Sometimes the anticipation of waiting for a kick off or HT can make other trades look more appealing.
You are right about this ! I know all this its just when i see certain scorelines its very tempting and that what I need to sort. Placed my trades for today and got plans tonight so today will be easy to avoid. First target just get throught this week with no over trading

That’s kind of why i do SHG and 1.5 as i know what time i need to look at the placing bets. I think i am going look at getting some sticky note to be on my laptop reminding me of loses or something just as prompt. I need to work on it as I have some money from match betting set aside to possible use for trading but I don’t want to use that until I feel like I am disciplined enough i mean not planning on using it until i am profitable over a period of time plus got I feel confident in a trading plan.
Hence the blog to hold me to account/ask for help. Think first target is small just do this week with only planned trades from filter/posted on here. Should be achievable as not much on and half way through the week.I read a book about getting in habit need to do it for 21 days before becomes a habit so thats my target atm so essentially all month with no extra trades.
Your right though i need to do something just to forget about it and take away the temption of trading

So ive been looking at myself lately and some trades over the past few months I come to realise my biggest problem is myself getting in my own way and by that its fear of missing out trading games that arent on my list. If i am being honest am finding excuses to trade them telling myself theres value in it so my target for the next month is to only trade games ive posted on here. If anyone has any tips on how you stay discplined please let me know.
Have your list every day, trade them ones, then walk away from the PC and do something more interesting . I used to be like you trading games that weren't on my list some worked for me some didn't but what i can tell you its not sustainable in the long run you will lose. Ive even shortened my list over time which feels alot better from a trading point of view and lifestyle point of view
I even talk to the mrs more now. What the hell is going on

So since starting filter only got 24 results but so far from this is the rest below way to tell but good soild start
O1.5
Started this as well 81 matches so far stated off very badly but level out near end of month for small profit
I will keep trading these with small stakes. My plan is to get abotu 300 of each before changing staking plan. By that i mean my plan will be lay to win one point. ATM doing small stakes and backing with min stakes to i feel i have enough data but so far so good ended in small profit. Hopefully get more SHG selections soon as feel may hit 300 soon with 01.5. if i do i may change it to 500 ill wait and see
