Scope (5/10)clarification please

As a new member i would like some clarification from Adam or other experienced members what the software detects when criterion 5/10 scope (for current season) applied. My guess is that by 5 matches scope the software detects the last 5 matches for home as well for away team (10 matches in total) regardless eg. if the home team was the away team even in their 5 previous matches . By 10 matches the software just detects the double amount of matches (20 in total) on the same principle. Am i right or wrong?
