Hello everyone, I am interested in trying the Pre Match Scalping - favs under 2.0 strategy. I use the BetTrader software and I have trouble using the tools for this strategy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

@dave-hayes I always think you so focus on one strategy and the one that works for you its what we've been about for years.

sounds good to me, if you need anything you know where I am.

@Ryan Thanks for the reply, but in reality for me at this minute, I am going to focus on 1 Strategy, this scalping one seems a bit risky given what Darri has said and that had confirmed my own thinking.

So I shall focus on one and build it up. I have one in mind given all the info I have taken on board and what the end goal is, added together with some logic and common sense or as much of the two that you can apply to trading and I'll go from there.

In some ways I am trying to run before I can walk, when I should be looking at Walking more and learning. I've come a long way in a short space of time and have found that the advice @Darri has given, along with your videos are really useful and helpful

@Darri good points well presented and taken on board.I'd be happy using 5% Stakes with Full Confidence in the trades on leagues I knew well for sure.

On other trades I'd maybe not use as high, but that would be dependent on research and in play action.

I get the fac that every strategy can be tweaked and you have to be careful with what you do. Either way advice is taken on board

@dave-hayes LTD wasnt the strat i used to get to a full time bank mate, i used "Late Goals", i moved from inplay trading to a more set and forget approach to try change my routine with trading, i dont do hours and hours of trades just set them up in morning and get on with my day. The thing is it doesnt matter what i used to get there i could have used many, almost every strategy can be tweaked to make profit. Its just focussing on being good at the ones you actually trade. This pre match strategy here for example can work, but as with all strats it has its flaws, and in my opinion these flaws are worse than the main strats posted elsewhere on the forum. This strategy has more risk than you think.

If you are still learning mate id still advise you to be doing min stakes in all honesty. If you are still eager to be looking around at adding things then your just spreading more risk. Just build confidence on the ltd you like doing and perhaps decrease those 5%-10% stakes as id only use those amounts if i was full confident in my approach. For example, if you had a £100k bank would you honestly be putting £5k into a trade you are still trying to learn, absolutely not!! Just build small and then as you improve and build confidence you can then up. Id say when you are in a position when you have more answers than questions is when id feel confident enough to be upping and committing any money to trading.

@Darri As per our PM chat, You answered the question I guess I was asking. Pre Match seemed to be very risky and tedious. I'm going to stick with my one strategy for now, because as I said to you its building my bank nicely and steadily. So I plan to carry on with that. using Between 5 & 10% of my bank for stake.

Looking at my own journey so far with BF and also this community, even a 5% Stake is way up from where I started off with just the minimum of £2 and as the saying goes, why change something if its winning.

LTD is what works for you, got you to full time, so thats where I shall continue following and doing

Thanks I reallyy do appreciate your advice, as Indeed I appreciate everyones advice

Its a tedious strategy and requires a decent outlay of your overall bank to be worthwhile in my opinion. Far better strats on this forum give better returns. With the current conditions of covid and team news this is a strategy best left alone right now 👍

@Ryan At the risk of being a complete pain, could you do a live video of how you scalp and show the end result, It would help me a lot. I know you have done a scalping video, but that wasn't in live mode, as I have watched it a few times.

    Cheers

@dave-hayes number I can’t say as it depends on the day but most I’ve done is 6.

I place the lay straight away after my back has been matched but keep an eye on it through the day.

@Ryan Thanks for the reply. So to confirm, how many matches would you choose to do this on, or do you select a couple that fit your criteria and then watch them.

See I was under the impression from watching your scalping video, that you lay then back and almost immediately you cashed out. But from my one time of trying it and from what you have written above, it seems that it can take some time before the profit kicks in.

@dave-hayes I just keep an eye on it through the day.

I will not do it an hour before the game though that’s my cut off.

    Hi

I often use this strategy with horse-racing in the final five minutes before a race starts where prices are jumping around all over the place.

How does this work with football where prices don't move much pre-kick-off?

@Ryan When you Pre Match Scalp and have placed your lay & Back Bets, what sort of time period do you give it, before you choose to green up?

@alexandru-sandu You can do this on the Betfair website pretty easy for when you are backing and laying for one tick?
