@ben-dobie I got rid of it all completely. Im tempted to get a few bits, like i said you can get a decent workout with some relatively light weights if you do it right. And like you said, theres some decent bodyweight exercises/routines out there
-
@lee-woodman yeah I can get by just frustrating when you start getting back into it isn’t it. Have you not got any eqpt then ? Some great body weight workouts out there I found during first lockdown, got into resistance bands too. Again not the same as the gym but better than nothing
-
@ben-dobie no it’s not quite the same unfortunately. I used to work out at home when I first started years ago but outgrew it and got rid of everything! If only I’d foreseen this pandemic! It’s better than nothing though and switching a few exercises should give you a decent workout nonetheless....better than nothing at least
-
@matt-wood I love the analogy! Definitely stealing that one! I won’t cut massively, just drop some carbs for a few weeks and keep protein high. I’ve got into a habit of eating too much ‘crap’ so it’ll kick me back into touch there aswell
-
@lee-woodman I’m gutted , just started to get some shape and muscle mass back and was planning on upping my calories this week ( which I was looking forward to)...I’ve got my garage looking like a bit of a gym now but still not enough weight to match what a I can do in the gym
-
@lee-woodman Exactly right mate!
Last lockdown turned me into a weakling and made me look like a soggy bag of oats. Also though totally killed my appetite!
Ive just spent 1k on equipment for the garage, not going without again, but stuff is sooooo pricey.
Yea I was loving the extra food as well, just got my incline dumbell press back to good standard (best exercise that seems to measure my overall strength).
Cutting weight whilst not lifting is a sure fire way to lose muscle mass

Nightmare that the gyms are shutting again, i was just getting back into it and enjoying bulking up again! Its never normally an ideal time to cut down when stopping weight training but now might be an ideal time to cut a bit of weight for a few weeks. Shame really, i was enjoying eating upwards of 3000 calories a day
-
@ryan-carruthers Yea I bet they do, make sure you stretch them out little and often. An achilles tendon problem will really set you back.
I am sure you probably stretch your calve muscles regularly. Have a google for Soleus stretches as well, from my experience they tend to get overlooked and can cause tendon issues.
How did you find the actual run in those new shoes though?
-
@matt-wood yes I have! I’ve watched a few of this guys videos he’s a lunatic
-
@ryan-carruthers
Not read that book but methodical consistency is the way to go with almost all training disciplines. That said the fecking gyms will be shut again now, just as I was starting to feel strong again and stopped looking like a half filled bag of soggy oats

@sam-maccuaig I mean these look unreal
