Under 2.5 market
-
Hi guys, I noticed recently that in the stored filters the profitable members filter no longer has an under 2.5 filter. I’ve dabbled with my own and it has had ups and downs. Largely to me over trading rather than narrowing down the selections.
I’m looking for a more cautious approach where I’m only in the market for the first 10 mins, then trading out for 10% of my stake.
Does anyone have any good suggestions of what to filter/look for to avoid games with early goals?

Hi Martin, my filters mainly revolve around first half and second half league tables, I'm really looking for teams that perform below their league position in the first half table and above their league position in the second half. Quick glance suggests that you don't seperate tables into seperate halfs.
It isn't a problem for me as I'm not looking to recreate my strategies here, I'm really happy with my current data provider and have several years worth of data to work with.
Joining BTC was (for me) more about the general trading discussion than the data. I'm not looking to move from my current data provider.
I appreciate the offer though and will look to see how I can replicate some of my strategies to share with BTC members.

@martin-futter
For the game last night (melgar v lima) I used home av. <2.5
Away av. <2.5
Home H1 av. <1
Away H1 av. <1 -
@martin-futter @martin-futter I’m a newbie and I am having trouble with the filters. What I need is to be able tot set a filter to identify all games UNDER 2.5. Can you please help me set it up?

@andrew-bannister what are your filter criteria?

Hello chaps,
Ive just read this thread with interest because these are the sorts of things ive being doing over the last few months. Ive tried the high odds u2.5 to get out quickly, Ive tried the low odds (la liga 2, brazil serie b) to stay in longer, my aim being 20% of stake in 20 minutes, 40% loss if goal goes in....obviously this varies between strategies. Ive had some success with this but then I hit a few losses and it all gets ragged.
I have just backed u2.5 in the melgar v allianza lima at good odds (1.96). Both teams low scorers, and both low goals in 1st half (average 0.67 for both)
Lima scored in 2 minutes, a shot that bobbled up over the keeper, and now theyve just made it 2!!
Im on the verge of giving up on this. Everything I back at the moment goes pear shaped, and the ones I short list but dont enter are winning!! Ive even started backing garys 2nd half goals and even that has suddenly hit a bad patch.....Ive had 4 losers of my opening 7 bets!!
Sorry to be negative but I need to vent!! -
@bottlabroon I'm sure we can help you get to grips with the data buddy

@bottlabroon how do you shortlist which games to trade?
I’m a long term member of another stats site that produces a daily data file updating a master database spreadsheet with a wealth of football data that I can interrogate to formulate my strategies. Sorry if that sounds a bit cryptic but many football traders will know the site I refer to.
My selections on all my strategies are generated automatically from a daily csv update file they supply based on my preset filters. My main filters on under 2.5 are based around teams that historically score few first half goals with plenty of 2nd half goals. That way the overs are usually are favoured in the market but as I’m always out before half time the 2nd half goals don’t impact me. I’m really looking at games that historically are very unlikely to have more than one first half goal, if that goal comes early in the game I try to profit from the fact that it’s unlikely there will be another in the half.
I’m sorry if it appears I’m not being very open on exact filters, it’s just that I’ve not yet got to grips with the BTC data fields so I’m unsure what can be replicated here but I will investigate further.
Can you message us what your criteria is? Am sure we can get something close or the same.

@bottlabroon no it’s ok, I understand what you’re saying. It’s similar to the concept I’ve been thinking of in terms of looking at games which are expecting goals but disproportionately weighted towards the SH. I’m only collecting data anyway for a couple of months
