Sunday 9th August.
Trading is back on track again (I think).
I felt a bit lost the last few weeks with not feeling as confident in my unders strategy and was not using the filters for any other strategy. I had just been looking for different trades with no real path. I was being successful though but didnt feel as if I was in control with what I was doing with no plan as such.
I had a bit of a lapse again on the snooker during the week with a few losses. They were not bets but trades that didnt go to plan and ended up losing more than I wanted, I put this down to overstaking.
I have since set up a First Half Goals filter, a over 1.5 goals filter and a over 2.5 goals filter. I have set up different rules for each strategy and am being profitable so far.
I am also laying the horses and dogs for a place which is greening as well. I am back on course and target for 15% per month which is great.

@eamonn-hogan Hi mate that''s exactly what i did. Ended up going ultra cautious and dutching 5 the profit was minimal and had 3 outsiders win on the bounce to give it up as a bad idea. Good luck with it mate
Cheers mate.

Sunday 2nd August
Today brings up 8 green days in a row. Not much football being traded, mostly with the laying of the horses and greyhounds. Also a lay of Brendon Todd in the golf brings up 9 points green today and 21 points this week.
Interesting i have been trying dutching the greyhounds without great success before, do you have any further criteria than 3rd price and the place market around 2.0 or below. Do you look for distance, recent form, trap etc?
No real science to it. I was dutching the greyhounds backing 3-4 out of the 6 and the amount of times one of the other 2 won made a big hole.
I just lay the 3rd fav if it is 3.0 or lower to finish in the first 2. Seems to be working so far. -

Thursday 30th July.
Think my head is back in the game the last few days. 5 green days in a row and only a few points short of my original target for the end of the month. I have in the last few days being laying the 3rd price horse and dog not to finish in the first 2. Its a short price lay normally around evens, 2/1 at most.
The unders seem to have gone by the wayside and losing a bit of confidence in it as as many of you guys have said, one loss sets back a lot of winning trades. Still in the green with it overall but for the time being onto I get back on track and get a few more green days under my belt I will stay away from it.For the time being as the football is in a state of close season I will stay with the laying of horses and dogs for small stakes.

nice game 2-3 0-2 ht and 3 sh goals

hI Eammon I would forget about green days and trying to win back what you have lost. Thats past history now. You have a new smaller bank and thats where you need to start from and forget about the bank you use to have. Thats all in the past, thats gone just like an old girlfriend or an ex wife.
You need to start afresh. Have a new bank, new system, new mentality of trading and not betting. Eammon the sports trader and not the better!
This is where you are going wrong and until your mindset changes I would knock trading on its head and not bother. You may need to walk away for a month, six months etc.
You are defo betting and not trading and risking far too much.
Turn on the gambling restrictions to your account to stop you from doing it and so you can only trade with a small amount each day so you can focus on trading strategies and not amount the size of your bank.why don't you paper trade for a few weeks and see how your getting on with the strategies you are practising?
Thanks for the feedback,
I have gone right back to basics and my stake is now at £2. I have forgotten about my old bank now and determined to start afresh.

@eamonn-hogan Defo, those days happen & we have to find a way to put them aside so that they don't hamper forward progress.

Sunday 26th July.
Still have not recovered from that bet last sunday. I have been doing silly things where I was up maybe 1 or 2 points but still felt that I needed to get a couple more as I was "chasing". I know I should have stopped when in the green but ultimately ended up in the red after those winning positions. Today though I ended up in the green by 2 points but I was in that position earlier on in the day. As James Woodroffe said to me either walk away at either 2 points up or down. Need to get that to sink in. The thing that keeps biting at me is that I was up so far and its all away.
I have to keep telling myself what I said at the start. If I can be scratch after 3 months it will be a good achievement and build from there.

@eamonn-hogan Good to see you are building some good solid rules that fit you buddy they look to be pretty good to me as well, great shout laying Tony too!

Wednesday 22 July.
After my losing "BET" on Man City to beat Arsenal. I decided to set up a daily loss limit on betfair to stop me from doing the "GAMBLING".
Hopefully I can get away from that mindset.
I already had a trade in the golf on Sunday after laying Tony Finau , as I had setup the limit on betfair I could not do any other trades. John Rahm won to get me back on track.
Monday I decided to dutch a few correct scorelines, this has proven good so far with 2/3 winning trades on Monday and 4/4 tonight for a total of 4 points green.
I have not been doing as many trades in the last few days, I have been trying to not overtrade. Im going to try and stick to the top leagues also instead of doing any old league as well.

I like Fairbot - It's simple and does what you need.
You could look at Traderline app as well thats pretty simple to use as well.
On mindset, we've got some videos on this on the dashboard that will be a good place to look at as well at this thread.....
https://forum.betfairtradingcommunity.com/topic/1923/what-trading-stage-are-you-at/9
Then it will highlight what stage your at and what you can work on then let us know and we can show you the best resources
@Eamonn-Hogan , @Ryan-Carruthers I've been thinking about trying out trading software, not done anything about it yet and will be a couple of weeks before I do so, maybe an idea for the next challenge or a few of us in a similar position can work together to make it work for us.
With regards to Bet Angel from comments in the football thread, I know @alansteward uses it but I have had a look at this, there are loads of free teaining videos on a variety of subjects in there. Some of them are the owner showing off but there are some interesting videos in there.
fantastic idea

@chris-osborne There's so many out there you can get a free trial with them all to see which one you like. I've been a Fairbot guy for years, I'll never change I don't think Mainly due to the fact it can run on Mac without windows and I love its interface.
I do have Traderline on mobile as well though - just incase I am out and about or the wifi goes mental!
It's personal preference though
Will have a nosey at fairbot
