@eamonn-hogan I had a similar problem with my filters yesterday, they threw out loads of games AND it was a dreaded Saturday! With @Darri in my head about the recent internationals I made it through yesterday by being super ruthless on what qualified to trade.

I was green at the end of the day but I spent all day at it, same as you, and lost one at the end I should have won. Putting that down to mental fatigue at being on it all day.

well done on being green yesterday. Mental fatigue played a big part for me yesterday. Good luck today mate

You too mate, get you some green back to correct yesterday 👍

    Catch that Green!

Thanks for reading guys and for the responses.
@Matt-Wood my personal preference is to lay for 1 point win
@Chris-Osborne I had been laying stuarts LTD for one point liability but now I have increased my stakes as my bank has grown = more liability. This would be fine however yesterday was the first day upping the stakes and of course was a losing day.
@Sean-Fitzgerald I agree with what you are saying in that the strategies have a good strike rate and should let the variance work itself out.

I have since taken out a few of the lower leagues and and concentrated on the top leagues. I also felt yesterday that I was doing too much and the fact that I was at it all day and up 6 points to then be down 4.5 hurt.
I think part of the problem yesterday was that I had too many games turn up on my filters, hopefully with less games now setting them up the night before I wont feel as bogged down as I felt yesterday.

    Thanks for reading again

Yesterday was a very up and then down day.

I was up around 6 points at one stage and ended up down 4.5 at the end of the day. Most of my strategies are set and forget which is why all trades were done. If they had not of been set and forget I may have well stopped and been happy with my profit.

The question is as they are set and forget and most are done the night before do I just face it and take whatever profit/loss I have at end of day knowing that the strategies I have are successful long term or do I maybe take my green at say 3 points or take a loss at 3 points?

would be interested to hear your thoughts guys?

My thoughts and happy to be corrected as there are far more knowledgeable people than me in this virtual room but the way I see it is if you’ve done the work on testing the strategy and its proven to be profitable long term you should trust the strategy knowing that there will be variance (particularly with a set and forget strategy).
Ensure you have your staking plan is right so you’re not exposing yourself more than your comfortable with on a day.

Again if you’ve thoroughly tested the strategy and your comfortable with it I’d only be modifying your selections based on further refining of the strategy that is also supported by testing.

And thank you for sharing your blog. I’ve started following along with interest. Cheers

    Another question.

Liability for 1 point or lay to win 1 point? whats the views on this?

I’m eager to hear opinions on this too 🤣 I have NEVER known!

Something I've often wandered about I guess it depends on what odds your laying at and the liability- in tennis when the odds are usually less than 1.5 I'm laying at 1pt liability to hopefully win more. However in football such as Stuart's LTD at KO strategy, I'm laying to win 1pt as the the liability is far higher

I guess it comes down to personal pref. Might be a bit fiddly laying for a liability of 1pt without software. Easier to lay for a win of 1pt and take the varied liability for me.

@eamonn-hogan I am pondering this exact same thing with something I am testing at the moment. It is a set and forget plan and is profitable so far. Wondering if I should just back everything and forget it or try to assess each game to try and reduce the number of losers.

Being really helpful to you though, I have not come up with any answer yet 😆

    😆

Im tempted to just let the strategies take care of themselves and will work out profitable at the end of the week/month but its just annoying to be up 6 points and end down 4.5.
The same thing applies if I had of been down 4 points and I decided to stop for the day and then seen that the next 5/6 trades won I would be even more annoyed.

Just like to hear others view on it

    1st April

A great end to a great month.

    Current strategies:

Unders. I back under 1.5 before kick off and get out with one tick. I started of with a stake of £50 and took my green after the odds decreased by one tick and then hedged the outcome. After a few episodes of this I increased it to £100 ( 10%) of my bank and done the same this time compounding the winnings. 15 winners in a row and a profit of £35 by doing this and a total for the month £51.90. 5.1 points

Stuarts LTD. Laying the draw for one point profit. After a couple of early losers this strategy really took of in the last few weeks £159 profit.
    15.9 points

LTD in half time market. I have a filter for this and I lay the draw when the odds get to a max of 3.0. I currently have done 117 trades and have had 82 winners with a strike rate of 70% This has been the best month so far with it bringing up £77. 7.7 points

LCS/LTD. These trades are normally done when its 0-0 or 1-1 and price averaging 2.8 but could be done anywhere up to 4.5. This is the strategy I use when Im watching a game or keeping an eye out for the live stats. The first two are set and forgets which dont need any monitoring which allows me to focus on this one. Monthly profit in this was 1.8 points

I have the occasional trade on the cricket and golf where I lay the draw in the tests matches and in the golf I lay somebody who I feel is too short going into the final round. Cricket one trade 0.4 points and the golf 12
    points

I have since ditched the compounding of the unders, will keep it at a steady 10% from now on.

Normally not a big lover of international football but it certainly helped with the bank building this week.

As I was changing my staking in line with my bank its hard to put a definite number on how many points it was in total but my bank increased by 26% from last month. Going forward I will change my stake each month rather than after I hit certain targets.
