    GUYS!

    Dont know if this will help, but if you log into your betfair account and go to promotions, then exchange promotions, betfair are offering all the exchange data for every sport from January 20 until May 20 to be downloaded for free! I assume this is all the in running data and sp data etc for all events, it also says you can backtest stratergies on it aswell! It says it normally costs £2000 for this! im gonna have a look, let us know if anyone else gets it

    Although I think it is the same data ( maybe wrong, normally am lol) but if you type into your search engine http//:betfairspprice the first option is says betfair sp history. The second paragraph says the following final win and place Betfair starting prices for Gb and Irish races are available for each day in the files here ( highlighted in blue). Click the blue here and it gives you all the data for horses and dogs for years.

    @dan-erridge
    Yes...you get a big .tar file which you can unzip using 7zip. This gives you a whole bunch of .bz2 files (which can also be unzipped) within various subfolders, one per race.
    The data looks to be in a format that looks something like xml...this is where I am getting stuck on transforming it into something more useable.

    Have you downloaded the betfair ones mate?, I’ve got to try and figure them today at some point as they come in tar files or something, @adamwilliams will be the man to ask surely

    Does anyone know of any tutorials/methods to process the data into a useable format?

    I have some bz2 files for horses but I can't work out how to get them into something like SQL/csv
