No not the Marvel crime fighting organisation saving the world from intergalactic threats. The kind of shield where you sit at home on your arse all day pondering your naval wondering what to do next.
I know there was one other here shielding. Any more of us? How are you filling your days?
A little bit of Joe Wicks in the morning followed by a a game or film in the afternoon perhaps?!
I know the advice is not to leave the house at all even for a walk but is everybody sticking to this?
Spend as little time as possible with others in your household and if possible don't share a bed. Impossible with kids but trying to adhere as much as poss with the wife as she's a nurse going into care homes every day. Alternating between my sons bed and my daughters while they take my place in the kingsize bed ffs haha!!

@richard-latimer I haven't slept in a bed with my wife since Lucas was born, I have a spare room and it's nice having your own bed when you get used to it lol not sure I could ever go back!
Love it lol.

I've been getting up, doing some workouts in the morning and then jumping in the shower then I've been getting on the computer, going through the forum been reading some of the older posts, then doing some online courses on things that interest me and keep me active.
Bit of Yoga in the afternoon, some video calls with pals... then try and cook and then get some tele on.
Worked well for a few weeks, I think this week will be the one where I run out of things!

@richard-latimer Sorry to hear your sad news. People don't really take it seriously unless someone they know is affected by it, suddenly brings home the reality of it all. These guys out carrying on as normal thinking it will never happen to me, very selfish putting a strain on the NHS and people like your wife!

Lest anybody forget how deadly this virus can be and that being told to stay home while our nurses in particular are out there saving lives and in some cases unfortunately just making people more comfortable.
My wife's best friend just lost her step mum. In her 60's but no illness or pre-existing condition to speak of. Got corona, steadily worsened, hospitalised, improved a little, deteriorated again, got worse, put on a ventilator.
Ventilator not working, extend palliative care.
She died last night.
We are all bored. I sometimes sleepwalk through the day. It will be great when we get some kind of normality back and football played in actual stadiums.
But my wife has been deployed to the care homes at the moment and the story's she is telling me are horrendous. She feels like she is being sent to war every day.
We often talk about perspective. This should be that perspective now. Sorry for another depressing post.

I'm fairly sure I'd be fine going for a walk but still something in the back of my head says not to chance it. Then when the wife gets back I'm fairly sure the surfaces she's touched are fine but still something in my head tells me to wipe it down haha! Next week I'm back to being a teacher. Don't even want to think of that right now haha. Had to knock the beer on the head in the week as it was getting silly. Not loads but 2 or 3 every day. Same with snacks. I'd be the size of a house by the time I get let out again haha!
Yeah there's still a few pricks out on the estates as if everything is normal apparently. Chavvy fuckers who's parents obviously don't give a s**t either.

@richard-latimer My wife and middle son are both on the at risk list so it falls to me to sort the groceries, etc. Obviously I could end up catching it and passing it on to them, but we had a conversation early on about the risks and how far we go with the distancing at home, we decided it was impractical so I just take as much care as I can when I'm out.
Selfishly, It's me who is finding this time the most difficult... Simple things like just going for a pint seem like distant memories. Having had to step up to doing the weekly shop has made me appreciate how much the missus does, even though she doe's seem to enjoy it!
The house which used to be nice and quiet is now completely manic during the day so the irregular trading hours suit me as everyone else is asleep. My wife's a teacher and my daughter who is back from university due to the closures is training to become a teacher so they are doing a pretty good job of home schooling my youngest two, one of which has ADHD so am constantly hearing her name being shouted!
I have changed my sleep patterns to fit around my trading often starting at 11pm until maybe 7.30am if there is late footie or horse racing on. I may go for a run or cycle afterwards before catching up with sleep for a few hours in the afternoon.
I live in a small village so the social distancing rule isn't such an issue for me when I'm out, although when the lock down first started I was stopped while walking the dog by a parish Councillor who told me off for walking the wrong way around the village, obviously a few choice words were exchanged!

@richard-latimer
I end up going to sleep much later than i would normally do. Get up about 9am and trade the greyhounds in Australia until lunchtime. Then have some lunch sit in the garden and read a book for a hour or two (if weathers nice).
I then go for a walk for an hour , just got back actually try to keep away from the idiots outside though!. Well i tried this afternoon , i couldn't believe my eyes 4 lads ( not young either about 40) walking down the road laughing and joking carrier bags full of beer going over the park for a drink up.
Feel for you mate your wife is doing a fantastic job trying to keep country safe you and your family making sacrifices and you get wankers like them who have no care for human life.
