@martin-futter exactly mate, I’d rather see that goal come in knowing I was on the right track it just came to soon.

Hi All, like I said earlier I had a very frustrating days trading. I have got to look longer term than trying to get in as many trades as possible and if I only have 6 trades on Saturday so be it. I have refined my filters again to get rid of the lower leagues of Europe as opposed to 5 weeks ago we have plenty to choose from now and not needing to trade the likes of the Nicaraguan leagues etc.
I was getting frustrated as I kept out on missing out on trades just before my entry points or waiting for inplay action to improve or better odds and a goal happens when you don't want.
Here are my results for today anyway here's to an new day tomorrow and at least I have protected my bank by going for a walk and clearing my head.Back over 1.5 goals if 0-0 at Half Time

@james-woodroffe yes it's all about value, once you trade as long as i have you really don't mind the early goals that go in, it just means you have picked a good game to trade and the goal came early. getting a better price is so much more important than trading every game regardless of price.
-
@james-woodroffe a quote I seen the other day.
Human nature will always make us dwell on what we just missed out on without appreciating what we've got.
-
Hey guys, hope it’s been a good day for everyone. I just been having a quick look thru today but just want to bring one thing to the table and this is especially relevant to those of you who are new. Don’t stress and worry to much about matches on your list that don’t end up qualifying as trades. It’s going to happen, and if you’re happy with your filters you just have to accept it. There’s gunna be days where nothing or very few qualifies. That’s cool it might seem like a waste of time but money not traded is bank not lost. Remember you’re trading and not betting and sometimes that can be tricky to get your head around. Just don’t worry about it and once that doesn’t bother you you’re winning half the battle which is mind set and discipline. If you’re happy with what you’re looking for it will come when it doesn’t it simply doesn’t. You’re not doing anything wrong it’s just how s**t pans out sometimes over 90 minutes.

On my list for lay the draw at 60mins strategy is the Israeli Premier league game Maccabi Haifa vs Beitar Jerusalem. This is what I am finding hard is the inplay stats are awful no shots on target from either side and 4 off. The odds are 2.56 at half time for ltd, if I wait until 60mins the odds should be below 2.2. What I am struggling with these games with little inplay action seem to have a goal before the 60mins and the feeling of missing out is very frustrating. How do people's mentality get over the fear of missing out, or would you just go in at half time at higher odds ?
FOMO really should be the most talked about topic in trading. For a trader like me who only enters late in a game there are countless games that have a goal in it before i enter. Its not a trade lost or missed out on, its just a game that never met my price. There are thousands of games a year, you dont need to be getting on them all. I went 2 days without finding a trade, that because im waiting for the best trades that match all of my set criteria for entry. Iv now just had a flurry of games come into the qualifying, and all have been won, if i was chasing and hunting for games id be getting worse prices and wouldnt be as profitable. Believe me i know your pain iv blown many banks and learnt the hard way. Once you stop these urges youll then become a better trader, always try keep trading as simple as possible. We dont need massive lists of games on watchlists or heaps of strategies, we just need to find a few good ones every week to be growing the bank. We only ever need to have one good solid strategy.
Absolutely spot on. @Ryan-Carruthers told me ages ago “it’s not like there’s limited opportunities.”
If trades don’t make the grade mate they don’t make the grade. I’d rather move on than trade just for the sake of it. Been there done that the move on option is the only way forward. -
@chris-osborne hey mate, there’s nothing wrong with quitting whilst you are ahead. Especially (I think) if you’ve nailed down selections and might only have a few on your plate. If you reach your target and still have games left it’s a great place to be if you just give those remaining games a “whatever” mindset and move on with your day.

@john-hurst there’s no just about 2 points mate, that’s a good day well done.

Up just 2 points today then. Too many no trades today- cant do much about that i guess
2 points up is better than 2 down mate

@darri Hi Darri - didn't know you had that thread. Makes for very interesting reading and I hope you will continue to write there, as I find it very inspirational.

Just updated my results, check them below. Just want to show people that dont panic about always having to find games to trade because everyone else seems to be. Work on your own style of trading. For me i wait till i find high quality trades with low prices to lay. If there is one thing that i anyone ever takes from my ramblings either on here or my blog, less is always more and price is king! Iv only been active in 6 games this whole week. Iv put in 9 trades within them and netted over 17 points/17% bank growth. There is method to the madness i speak, sometimes. Look around at the strategies requiring you to be active in 10s of games just to make a small profit, just wait and be patient, find good prices to enter. FOMO will always hurt especially on a forum when you see others making money. But actually have a look at their profit returns not their win rate, big difference!
Ill do a update on the thread in the morning, you can find my blog in my description box at bottom.

PAOK making seriously hard work of it. Only about 1.5pts clear if no goal there. Good but definitely should have stopped earlier. Will take that on board for sure.
