But for me 10 points a month is a great goal, that can be achieved then pushed from there.
My monthly goal is set at 10 points too.
I think it’s important to set a monthly goal that’s achievable based on previous performance of your strategies.
If I cast my mind back 12 months or so my monthly goal was a pretty arbitrary number I picked more so from wishful thinking vs science.
I’m a goal oriented guy and I found this was doing more harm than good as I wasn’t hitting this random number I set for myself and it impacted on my mindset. It will effect different people in different ways but it def became a negative for me.
My trading has been more structured since I set a goal backed by past performance.
Love the idea someone mentioned around base goal and stretch goal.
