@andy-donnelly problem I see with Germany is they could end up playing Brazil in the second round

    @andy-donnelly interesting.

A criticism of the last AFCON was loads of low scoring games and teams didn't gel. That was also mid-season and played in the heat so wonder if we'll see a repeat this time?

I’ve been doing a bit of pre World Cup analysis and thought I’d share a few lines from it. Almost certain to be hopelessly wrong and some things may be obvious but interested to hear thoughts.

I’ve talked myself in to thinking Germany could go very deep and may outrun their odds. Main reason for it is the continuity factor. In a World Cup where teams have the least preparation time ever, Germany could conceivably field 7 Bayern players and 1 recently departed (sule) as well as having an ex Bayern coach. I could see them getting off to a flyer because of this and would take them to finish top of their group. Quarters would likely mean a match against Brazil but by then you may be able to remove liability and we all know what happened the last time these sides met.

Massive outside one, but surprised by how many pacey players Ghana have in their squad. Lamptey, Inaki Williams, sulemana, kudos. Alongside the likes of Partey and Ayew I think they could be a very dangerous team and be involved in some stretched goal laden games. Not sure I’m brave enough to say they will qualify but they could scare one of the big boys in their group. One thing I may back is for Korea to finish bottom of the group to get Ghana on side and also back overs in their games if the price is right.

I've been trading SHG for a few years now. My mate asked me how successful I was at it. I told him about 80% of the time I was correct. This was pure guesswork on my behalf. I wasn't sure - mainly because I never recorded my results.

So, for the last ten weeks, I decided to record them.

    Week 1 (04th Sept - 10th Sept) - 17/19 (89% £297 profit)

    Week 2 (11th Sept - 17th Sept) - 21/26 (80% £45 profit)

    Week 3 (18th Sept - 24th Sept) - 16/19 (84% £208 profit)

    Week 4 (25th Sept - 01st Oct) - 14/16 (87% £264 profit)

    Week 5 (02nd Oct - 08th Oct) - 30/38 (78% £46 profit)

    Week 6 (09th Oct - 15th Oct) - 31/34 (77% £7 profit)

    Week 7 (16th Oct - 22nd Oct) - 31/42 (73% -£147 loss)

    Week 8 (23rd Oct - 29th Oct) - 24/27 (88% £377 profit)

    Week 9 (30th Oct - 05th Nov) - 30/32 (93% £617 profit)

    Week 10 (06th Nov - 12th Nov) - 37/48 (77% -£56 loss)

There have been 307 trades inside 10 weeks. 251/307 trades are winners - 81%

Was that 80% good guessing or was my brain calculating things I wasn't even aware of?!

@martin Thanks for posting I have noticed that some Leagues restart after the Group Stages have completed,

Slim pickings for me from a Trading point of view (not a bad thing), there's very few Leagues there I trade. Set and Forgets I'm less restrictive

Anyone else have a brilliant weekend? I thought it may be tough week before World Cup but I was very wrong!

    Saturday & Sunday:

    20 trades
    17 winners
    3 losses
    +1.89 points = £189.00

2 of my losing trades I probably should not have got involved with, but I did. So it could have been 3.89 points, but it wasn't

    Still, can't complain too much
