@daniel-cooper just keep doing what your doing mate. Dont worry about your profit and loss over a day think over a whole month or over a set amount of trades. There is absolutely nothing wrong with staking £2 or 2% stakes on a £100 bank. Remember everyone is different. Most pro traders trade between 2-5% of their bank per trade so in your example of a £100 bank £2-£5 stakes so what your doing is fine keep working away mate. I take what alan said but i would also say if your staking is 2pts which it is for most pros then i wouldnt stop after 1 loss(2pts). What i do is tend to ignore the results of trades during a trading session, try and be as robotic/emotionless about trading for that session then analyse your performance. Trade what is on your plan 👍 if i had stopped everytime i had lost 2 pts for a day id be cutting loads of potential profit ,13 points is a cracking effort mate, keep up the learning and good work

Thanks Darri, I really appreciate your input! I think theres a healthy balance but also, the thing I love about this forum, is there is so much knowledge and so many different ways of doing things! Lots of people to look up to - I suppose my weakness, when I',m not strict, is chasing losses! But definitely, trade out the plan, stick to it rigidly!

@daniel-cooper Hi mate... Well done with your 13pts... Must ask the question as I'm intrigued how you got to 13pts and not have to trade the evening... Do I presume you staked more than 1pt per trade to achieve that level of success?

Therefore meaning you increased your bank by 13pts but over staked to achieve it?

    Hi Alan

Myself and other small stakers are a bit boxed in when it comes to this! Betfair enforces a minimum stake of £2, and as my trading bank is only £100 and 1 point is therefore £1, I’m in a position where I always have to stake more than 1 point! So unfortunately that is the case!

Yes mate I thought that's what it was so in effect 6.5pts profit at £2 a point... Great work.

All I was going to say is please be wary of variance as it could eat into your bank quite quickly.

Just be careful and you'll be fine... If you lose 2pts maybe stop and for the day before you start chasing losses 👍

This is honestly cracking advice, and just like I stopped last night while ahead, I need to be strict enough to stop when its going bad!!! Cheers 🙂

@richard-latimer I have betondroid but I thought they changed like the other software. And went with the £2 minimum? I have bet trader too but rarely get on the laptop for trading. Might cancel it and get traded line or something for the android.

No, amounts are quite random. They were meant to be coming up with a hot fix to counter the change in betfair API but as yet nothing. 80p will go through fine.

@daniel-cooper Yes as Lee says dont worry about software just yet... Rather than investing in software you'll be better off adding it to your bank and keep going as you are... Keep up the great work 👍

@daniel-cooper I think if youre just trading to start out then software isnt that necessary. I use Fairbot on my macbook (you will need something like codeweavers crossover to run it) but like i said i dont think its that vital to begin with.

Regarding stakes, personally id set my bank at 200 (even if only 100 is in BF) then you can stake £2 as 1 point). I think itd stop overstaking and therefore potentially wild swings in variance

Get yourself some software. If you're on android you can download betondroid for free and currently you are able to make 80p bets if you want to stake smaller than £2.00.

Apple I’m afraid! But could get software on my PC! Any you suggest?

Others can suggest. I'm a cheapskate currently and go for free haha!! Nothing free on PC anymore that I'm aware. Only trials.
