Over trading? i did 303 trades in my first real trading month. On 26 so far for August..

@lee-woodman I think this is my problem now. The lifestyle I have with the good lady is coming together, still working hard, but it means I have a fair bit of free time and my time needs are very very flexible. Can lead me to sitting in front of the pc looking at trading far too much.

It’s also pretty good to give you that reward for trading and spending the time doing that to have the free time.

@ryan-carruthers Its no coincidence but i used to trade with too much time on my hands and im 100% certain i overcooked it in certain ways. Now im too busy to randomly try and find matches and ive done better with it. Ive got alerts and time set for my shortlist, but after that if i have free time (a precious commodity for me!) then i dont look for additional trading, i do something non-trading

Thanks, but its something she has had her whole life and has always needed attention. She is generally fine though
I should add books and time spent with the good lady to that too. Just picked up How to Own the World on kindle for 99p

@lee-woodman it help as well with that feeling of what should I be doing? Surely I should be trading.
It helps to give you that time that actually that is my trading time and that’s the downtime.

Same, I tend to block my time on days like this and try and get some downtime away from Betfair and get back for the games.
I like this, its something ive done with todays list. Ive made sure ive made some time to go for a run, take the dog for a walk and to sit and read and then my blocks of trading are concentrated

@ryan-carruthers Probably the dogs as one is older and has medical issues so needs attention and the other just wants my attention ALL the time so easy to turn to them.
Other than that the gym, but I'm old now and can only do so much in there before things hurt lol

@ryan-carruthers Yep I think this is something I will need to do on days like this. If I am sat here looking at footy I will be tempted to go off plan.
For me at least, on a day like this I have also set a max red and max green. If either of those get hit then the pc is off and I go do something else.

@lee-woodman 100% agree. I find days like this the most difficult as there are sooooo many opportunities. Like you say gotta be sticking to the quality picks you have planned on.

Agreed! Some days youve got to resist finding something/anything to trade, days like today involves sticking to only the very best opportunities
