Question for those of you doing this full time (I have no grasp on how many people here do!) - what do you tend to do in the downtime? Does your bank carry you through comfortably or is it a bit of a struggle?
Bit of a personal question but Iām merely curious! Any answers appreciated, understand if its a bit personal
Afternoon. Hope things are good
Obviously I am a beginner like you but for me IF, big IF, I make it to pro, or even semi pro then I envisage the downtime spent researching investments. Things like ETFs, outright stocks and shares purchases. I will include Football Index in this too. Plus for me I will always have a few clients I help with nutrition as I will always be interested in that. Maybe now and then a PT client too although less interested in that now.

Recommend anyone, especially newbies to check out Paulo Rebelo on youtube. Very knowledgeable bloke on overs/unders trading and trading in general. Its in portugese but with good english captions.
Thanks - I've heard of him but since he's Portuguese I have never seen anything he's done.

@chris-osborne i think its off the back of what was discussed over the weekend on this thread. People asking about overtrading etc. Martin is right there will be loads of different ideas and thoughts and traders will do things differently. Probably a hard topic for a podcast with just 20 min so fair play, i would say there is more to add but was a good listen. Id advise anyone to read over the weekends posts, listen to the podcast and iv done numerous posts about how to stop overtrading on my blog too. Been good to have a collective effort try to tackle this problem.

Honka behind in Finland. Looks like they're all over their opponents. Got my lay in @ 2.44 but iit's finally starting to come down a bit noow.
Also on this!
Just need to tell yourself the later the better haha!!
Not going to get angry like I did last time but I'm massively on the fence with Finland. Just seemed to be so much posession but nothing penetrative. No urgency. Then right at the end if anyone was making the running it was HIFK.
Last year in Finland it was maybe half a point profit or something. This year from 3 trades minus around 3.5pts.Will continue tracking but remove from my main sheet. So many other leagues performing brilliantly. I really don't need the Fins if they are going to do this.

ok brains gone does anyone know how to work out the probability for the lay side, for example using martins chart 71% is 1.4 to back what would be lay side to this.
The bettingtools site does what you want but if you don't want to have to open that site every time, it's not difficult to calculate for yourself.
If you have back odds of 1.4, you calculate the probability as 1/1.4 = 71% (you already have these two).
So, if there is 71% chance of it happening, there must be 29% chance of it not happening. This converts to odds of 1/0.29 = 3.45 (these percentages are all rounded figures, why the site will show a slightly different result - if you use the real figures, you get the Lay odds to be 3.50).On the sheet, flip the fractions round of the odds you are looking at, so 4/9 becomes 9/4, then look at the decimal of that figure (3.25) and that is effectively the odds you are backing at when laying at 4/9 (1.44)

@martin-walker cracking results mate, keep that up 20% a month in your overall trading will quite significantly grow your bank if you maintain this approach your laughing here mate awesome stuff
-
@matt-wood yes going forward it will be. I did trade the elos but hovered around break even this month, i was only dabbling in them and didnt give them my full attention and they took up quite a bit of time so will drop them and pick them up again in the future. Will now spend all my efforts trying to improve the fhg and shg. Im more than happy for them to keep producing 10% though
