I posted something in the football thread earlier about separating leagues based on quality so thought id share some figures as a couple of people seemed interested. Obviously i havent re-invented the wheel with this and most traders probably do this naturally but i did a bit of analysis on my main filter and it bumped the figures up quite a bit. So basically i just went through the leagues and graded them A and B in terms of quality. The idea being that the better leagues were more competitive and therefore each game mattered more. They also tend to have better players and deeper squads to change things as required. The teams also tend to be a bit more reliable. So all i really did was use my own knowledge of leagues and also my trading knowledge and gave the leagues an 'A' or a 'B' grade. So China, Sweden, Norway, MLS, Iceland for example were A and Estonia, Belarus, Slovakia, Peru etc were B. The figures for my SH goal filter are below:
A lot of the figures for the total look decent enough as they are, but remove the lesser leagues and the SR becomes better, significantly so on some trades. These are just a few examples trades, but these are the ones i tend to either trade or at least benchmark. The other factor is certain league grades are subjective

Zamalek behind in Egypt.
Price still going up which is annoying.
Got it @ 2.36
The up and down nature of Sept continues. Stays 1-0.

The second wave of COVID-19 is heading to the UK. Alarming rates of new infections across Europe. Will football be postponed for a while? I really hope it isn’t.
I've already said I think there will be widespread disruption unfortunately.

@martin-futter Can the software not have a default league setting were it automates each filter?

Cheers to keith for the tip, along with filter trades i will be laying middlesbrough at home to bournemouth tomorrow. Boro have been horrendous at home lately and look very dodgy at the back. Boro are without their manager tomorrow too, i really dont see them winning this game. They can be laid at 3.0. Expect that to move a bit

@keith-anderson west ham only have antonio as a threat really

Arsenal are 1.54 against West Ham tomorrow. I’d have them 1.33. Superb home record and West Ham are pish

@martin-futter I am new to trading football and find the sheer number of leagues overwhelming. Any help in identifying the better leagues to trade would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
yes sounds like a good document for all!

@lee-woodman yeah I agree ...
The way I play it is....initial plan is to LCS @ 60 which is systematic, if game is still lively @ 70 and still no goal I go again, I won't get involved @ 70 if a goal is scored in between . If a goal comes before 60 I stay out until 70 and if game still suggesting a goal I'll get involved then ... all odds dependent of course.Very similar to how I do it. I’m hoping to get a purely LCS filter so that may be a bit more subjective to the situation although will be similar

@John-Hurst @Lee-woodman @Richard-Latimer
Cheers gents, that's enough to convince me I'm doing the right thing

@john-hurst Yeah I'm the same mate, would always asses what's going on in the game, I just noticed that a lot seem to just walk away and move onto the next one which obviously is fine if that's what suits their trading but my own figures suggest it would be unwise to discount every game because a goal went in early.
I've looked at this before and you're right. It's definitely worth tracking.
I used to do it where if the goal came before average first goal time I would look for another but it did seem to be pre 60 most of the time.

@richard-latimer Hi mate I find the "Goal Live" app is good for quick notifications... Sometimes run along side Sofascore if it's mega important to act quick after a goal
Cheers. I'll take a look.
