@dan-mackinnon Having lost in four finals and not having reached a final in my lifetime it will rank very highly with me not as good as winning the Premier League but wont be far behind
-
I was speaking with one of my colleagues about this earlier today. I think something will happen eventually, but would have been surprised if this had actually gone through. Instead I had sensed as @Darri said before, it'll be an more biased domestic league and we're end up with an even bigger gap between the top 6 and the rest of football as smaller clubs are left to go bust. It's a shame fans aren't in the stands to make it more apparent (not that the people making the decisions go to the games)
The PL and FA should have used this as an opportunity to bring in regulators and make changes for the better. Instead we'll end up with more wasteful European games while the FA Cup and League Cup get kicked to the side. I'm sure @Chris-Osborne will agree that winning the FA Cup might not mean anything to the top 6 but still holds a special place in the hearts of many. My favourite football moment was going 1-0 up in the FA Cup final
I also enjoyed seeing that Nottingham Forest have won more European Cups than Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Spurs combined

@darri
Nah, they aren't losing their jobs. It's all part of the plan. Agnelli has had enough and this was his final pay day, financed by the fantastic new CL deal.
I'm actually starting to believe my own conspiracy theory....
That said, someone ring for an ambulance if I start talking about the Illuminati or Great Reset.
-
Woodward apparently gone from United! Great news as a United fan
-
@stuart-capstick said it all this time its a bluff, now the thing has collapsed and the first two to come out are the 2 still in the champs league. The thing that baffles me is we are now seeing these guys lose their jobs, now that either means they are scapegoats here or these guys actually believed we would love this concept now will we ever know if uefa have caved in and agreed a package, we wont because those guys when it comes to money never speak up for a reason. The secrecy the lies, not telling the staff, fans and players. Did jp morgan really offer that money and did DAZN really say yes to this... Looking forward to the fyre festival like netflix show to come out of this

@chris-osborne Juventus chairman apparently has now resigned
-
An elaborate conspiracy theory:
This was planned all along and designed to create a CL where the top 12 get more money in any case.
We have not seen UEFA's new plan for the CL. So, we can never know how or even if they conceded to the 12.
This Super league is seen as evil incarnate by most fans. This means that any deal UEFA now strikes with the 12, however bad for other clubs, will be seen as better than the Super League.
Notice how we have never seen a single figure from the 12 come out publicly and speak about the Super League. Yes, we have seen a statement from Perez but he's quite happy to be a hate figure; after all he's the president of Real. Reals get a lot money from the municipality of Madrid and are generally detested in Spain in any case.
Any deal now will be seen as a relief in comparison to the potential Super League. There we go; quids/euros/dollars/roubles in for the lads..
Not bad, even if I do say so myself.
-
@chris-osborne Gary Neville will be pleased might even smile
-
@darri heard that uefa were in the process of getting a big new sponsor for the CL so more money so could have given in and done a deal with these clubs behind the scenes
-
Music to Man Utd fans and bad news for the rest of us Woodward has apparently resigned
-
@chris-osborne exactly mate, i think bamford said it perfectly yesterday, if we put this much effort into the important things like BLM, things wouldnt be around so much, instead its taken club owners trying to milk the football economy for their own greed to get us all united in this way. Like its been huge the reaction, clearly one of the worst business decisions some of these guys have made, unless behind the scenes uefa have caved into paying more and this was indeed the whole point of this bluff
-
@chris-osborne said in The BTC Football Trading Thread:
@steve-sandell Apparently Man City and Chelsea weren't keen in the first place just feared being left behind. I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool also withdraw sooner rather than later.
That's a bit worrying in itself as it points to weak leadership at Man City & Chelsea, if they weren't keen on it in the first place then they should have taken a stand like the German clubs and PSG.
While I will be delighted if this all falls apart, part of me was looking forward to seeing City, Chelsea and Real kicked out of this seasons Champions League if those rumours were correct.
-
@darri If only global football would show the same passion against VAR
-
way its going will be a 4 team super league
-
Passion and tradition wins how funny is it that city and chelsea both still in champs are now saying no said it earlier man city would be one of the first to bail, lets see if anything happens to them as punishment i doubt it tho. Havent seen something so opposed before in football, be interested to see exactly why these clubs have now bailed within just 3 days of making such a big statement. Just shows how big a bluff they tried to play
-
@lee-woodman lol they underestimated the backlash and global opposition normal service will be resumed by tomorrow with this being committed to memory
