@richard-latimer i think its because there are far fewer spaces for keepers too, can only have 1 keeper in a game and unlikely to have 2 keepers on the bench. Therefore we remember the fails of keepers more. Its like in trading, we actually forget about the easy wins (hopefully numerous) yet over analyse the losses (hopefully seldom) but they sting more, its the same with keepers, no one really cares too much about the clean sheets or the easy saves they do every game at these big clubs yet when it comes to the crunch big moment we remember them all too well. Outfielders get way more chances because you have squad depth at teams and everyone always wants a better right back so easy to go get a rebound career transfer, look at that capoue and moreno last night, both fell out of favour over here yet just won the Europa league at a team who wanted to revive their careers, not many keepers get that opportunity, hart sadly went from a city team with almost 70% possession per game to burnley who'd rather defend, also had spells at torino (not a big club) west ham and spurs all of which already had good goalkeepers so its not as if he got a chance. Its just we remember them because there are so few of them, easier to remember, rather than thinking of capoue or moreno who had the same slump.

@richard-latimer If an outfield player makes a mistake they can often recover from it. If a goalkeeper makes a mistake it'll lead to a goal. They also don't get that many opportunities to prove themselves over a game (unless you were Sheff Utd's keeper this season) so it can probably play on your mind a lot.

It doesn't help that the defenders playing in front of him have got progressively worse as well.

I think of Joe Hart. Once massively coveted and firmly Man City and England no. 1. Next minute he's a figure of fun who can't get a club.

I cannot believe how David de Geas confidence has gone - he was unreal for so so long.

This seems to happen far more with keepers than outfield players

    Lay Under 1.5 Goals:

    17:00 - Viking v Mjondalen
    19:00 - Molde v Valerenga

Viking v Mjondalen - odds are available pre-kick off. Mjondalen are likely to put men behind the ball.

Molde v Valerenga - We'll have to wait for desirable odds in-play

Decent penalties. Imagine losing it because the keeper misses the 22nd penalty of the night

    ouch

Before tonight he hadn’t saved a penalty for 5 years and still hasn’t.

    That's a great stat!!

Their goalkeeper on the bench has saved 6 penalties in that time.

I thought he was now number 1. Was it a question of De Gea being cup goalkeeper?

Probably, also likely to be his last game can't see him sticking around to be second choice to Henderson

Good nights green and United lose on penalties pretty much the perfect night.

I wonder if he would have gone this badly downhil if that move to Madrid hadn't fallen through at the last minute due to paperwork.

    Laying villareal
Will also be SHG when the odds hit 1.25 👍
As some will know iv had an outright on united since just before the semis so as long as they comeback and win either in 90 or after extra time/pens ill still be good. Just fancy them to comeback here, united have done this all season

    BOOM!
Lay of villareal at 2.0 comes in and so too does the SHG 💪 🤑 looking for united to win outright now for all 3
2pts profit from this minimum 👍

3pts profit it is actually forgot about winning the SHG 👍 🤑 hindsight could have exited the winner market but good night in the end 👍 🤑
