@alan-steward thanks I’m only looking for 0.5pt win anyway currently as at low stakes but will bare your suggestion in mind.

I’m ok with the occasional loss in these games which is always going to happen

@chris-osborne Ah... Gottcha, maybe just look for 0.25pts green rather than 1pt... It's all horses for courses really and if you make more green than red it doesn't really matter what your anticipated % of green is.

That said maybe switch to 0.25pts green or even 0.5pts green if it makes you feel a tad more comfortable.

Keith has nailed his lays though and I believe they're quite profitable so long as you stick with it long enough to balance out any variance πŸ‘

@eamonn-hogan LOL, I seen your post and thought, hope so as it will scratch my o2.5 trade... That said not sure if you're aware but Sendai have an excellent defensive record of late... think that's 4 games not conceding more than 1 goal... Nice shout though

Cheers. A lot of attacking players by the home side. Banging the door down

@Chris-Osborne @Alan-Steward Thanks for the replies guys. My gut feeling is that Croatia would come into around 30 and Scotland to around 100 with a win, but I don't have the experience in these markets to know. Would love to hear @Martin's opinion

Yes mate. 16 goal attempts and 6 on target from home side, would have been disappointing if they didn’t get one.
With the over 0.5 as well that game brought up 1.96 for me.

+4.9 for today as it stands

    Hi Guys,

I'm new here and don't usually trade football so I thought I'd run this one by you guys and see if there's anything obvious I've missed.

In the outright market for the Euros currently Croatia are at $110 and Scotland are a whopping $420. The two play each other in the final group match and either one of them will win, or it will be a draw. If I back both and it's a draw I lose my money. But if one wins they will be on 4 points which will almost certainly be enough to qualify for the second round.

Now, $110 for the world cup finalists and $420 for any team seems way too big for a team in the second round, so I would expect the odds of the winning team to shorten quite a lot and provide a nice profit if I trade out. So the only risk here is a draw, which is made less likely by the fact that a draw is of no use to either team.

I know many of you are exceptional football traders so would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Interesting view... Not a trade I normally take on so not too aware of how the outcome odds may change... Maybe @Martin can help you here as I know he dabbles in this kind of thing... My personal thoughts are I'm not too sure prices will move that much to benefit risk reward, Martin will get back to you for sure as will other members who dabble in this market @Darri ?

@ian-parry Not sure, problem is the loser is out the tournament. I backed Croatia as my outsiders at the start along with the "safer" options of Belgium and France.

Whichever team wins I'd remove the liability as soon as you can or cash out bearing in mind that you'll have a lost stake on the loser.

If its a draw both of them are out as 2 pts won't get you through as 3rd placed team
