Thats what i was doing on my spread sheet me doing it manually. Had to get a excel expert (friend my mrs knew) to help. Just taken a look and its a COUNTIF
I use the excel smart filters. Godsend as I can just filter the country/league I want and a with a count formula it does everything for me.
It's the only way I am able to manipulate huge amounts of data now.

I work with spreadsheets for 40+ hours a week I'll put a post together to see if it will help I'm sure others will have a different approach to me but it will be a useful starting point

@martin-walker Im in the same boat spending most days collecting data for filters, know that im going around it the long way, which gives me less time to do much else. Never needed to use excel to any decent standard

Is there an easy way to point someone in the direction of learning how to do this.

All the info is taken from a master sheet. So when that gets populated this sheet automatically gets populated. Excel is way beyond my little brain

@steve-sandell many different ways of doing the same thing as my manager says can give each of us the same task and would get the same answer but all have a completely different approach

Hi Eamonn yes there is if you let me know what you want I can do for you with a combination of vlookup and sumif formulas. This is what i've done: -
Can set up as a template to use on each filter your testing

Being done by VAR is horrid, but even worse when it takes away 7 mins of a game, just kills momentum
